| PENDLE WRITERS PROGRAMME JULY � OCTOBER 2004 5th July Poem � any style � theme �getting caught in the act.� 19th July Children�s story � theme �a time when the lights went out.� 2nd August Workshop 50 word flash fiction: theme to be given on the night. 16th August Article � theme � write about what you�ll miss when you die. 30th August Young adult � theme � staring with the line, �I come from�� 13th September Short story � to include � a camera, a pair of yellow gardening gloves, a picture of a dog. 27th September Theme of � �at the other end of the street� any genre. 11th October Descriptive prose � theme � �The dentist� 25th October Writers� clinic: Bring in a piece of work, doesn�t have to be finished. Put it in the middle of table everyone will read and add comments on the back. (No comments will be added if you wish). Please remember the word counts for stories, articles etc. This gives everyone a chance to read and to have a good discussion afterwards. These themes are only guidelines. They are not written in stone. People can bring in any work, at any meeting, but, those who have completed the theme will be given the chance to read first. Anyone with any future ideas for themes or workshops please let me know. |
