Ann Northrup’s recently completed mural encompasses two walls in an urban Philadelphia neighborhood. The mural, which is designed to last 50 years, integrates portraits of the neighbors as well as the community garden which resides in front of it.  As artists create art for the ages, Ann has insured her immortality with the mural.

Linda Pace, Founder of Art Pace, artist, collector had art lessons from her mother at an early age. Her interest in art, and her own art and involvement in the art community led her to found ArtPace, a foundation for contemporary art, which funds artists residents from Texas, the United States, and around the world to create art in a supportive and stimulating environment.

Jean Rosow  always loved to draw, but her parents didn’t think that art could be a career, so she studied Russian in college with thoughts of joining the foreign service or becoming a translator.  Things didn’t work out that way. She married, took other jobs, but managed to fit art into each job in some way.  She now creates art for the ages, as she says. Her advice is do what you love to do.

Aliah Sage  listens to the possibilities and seizes them. She established her home and studio in Taos, New Mexico where she pursues her dual passions of skiing and teaching skiing and art and teaching art. Each stage in her development as an artist has taken her to larger expressions of her vision so that from a production potter she has evolved into a muralist and sculptor of monumental metal works that adorn public spaces throughout the US and in Europe.

Penelope Speier has a passion for art which she expresses in her paintings, and shares through the Visual Thinking Strategies Program which she introduced to the San Antonio Independent School District  in which docents, teachers, and students are initiated into looking at and learning from art.

Paul Stankard combines love of nature with artistry and dexterity as an artist/craftsman to create glass paperweights valued by collectors and the foremost museums in the world.

Lily Yeh founded The Village of Arts and Humanities in an impoverished area of north Philadelphia where her efforts to enhance the environment with parks, gardens, art education, theater, and housing programs has turned a dismal slum into a source of pride.  Her efforts extend to Nairobi,Kenya, Ecuador and China.  The recipient of numerous grants and awards, she recently received honorary doctorates from University of Massachusetts, University of the Arts, and Massachusetts College of Art, and the Brudi Bruner Award for Urban Excellence. Her vision, which she will share with our listeners, is clear.
