December 4, 10, 11, 17 Michael J. Lewis, chair of the Art Department of Williams College, author of Frank Furness: Architecture and the Violent Mind found the thing he does best at age thirty-two after trying for fame in a rock and roll band, as an historical novelist, and as an artist.  Michael J Lewis gives each word its perfect weight as he writes and teaches about art, architects, architecture, and architectural monuments. He recently was on the NY Times panel discussing the future of the World Trade Center Site as well as the NPR program on that subject.

 December 18,24,25,30,  Mark C. Taylor, Professor of Humanities, Williams College and co-founder with Herbert Allen of the Global Education Network, taught the first global course in 1992 with his colleague in Helsinki, Finland, Esa Saarinen.  Each had a class of ten students, and their classes were teleconferenced and communicated via email, a rarity at the time. Mark has written nineteen books, his latest, Grave Matters  is associated with an exhibit of photographs included in the book at well as dirt from the graves of immortal Mark views as his ghost. Mark has been recognized for his contributions to teaching by the Carnegie Foundation.
