First Friday Potlucks in Baltimore
First Fridays are a feminist potluck open to all women. Create a dish, grab something from the deli, pick up a pizza, and come on over! Arrive after 7 p.m. Talk with friends, meet new women, network your latest ideas, talk baseball, talk politics, or talk kids. But come. And enjoy. The rules are simple: we meet once a month on the first Friday at different houses. The hostess provides paper goods and drinks; you bring the food and conversation. How it Works

1. All reservations are made under the name “Arlington Restaurant Group.” We make the reservations; you call us to reserve a space.
2. To reserve a space (which is limited!), you must call both Jeanne Telep, 703-243-3258, AND Louise Harmony, 703-276-3593. Leave your name, phone number, and how many people are in your party. This way Jeanne and I can cover for each other.
3. Free public parking after 6PM, M-F, at underground DHS (Dept. of Human Services) Parking Garage, 3033 Highland Street. The nearest cross street is Wilson. All restaurants are within 2 blocks of this garage.
4. All restaurants are within two blocks of the Clarendon Metro (Orange Line).
5. Add 25% to your bill to cover tip and tax.

Women's Hiking and Walking Group
All hikes begin at 10 am and last for 2-3 hours, generally in the Baltimore metro area. The hikes are of varying degrees of difficulty — most are easy to moderate. The pace is usually aerobic. Dogs allowed at most hikes. Please bring water with you and wear hiking boots - or very rugged sneakers - since paths can be rocky or slick. There is always time for announcements and chances to arrange your own events.

Schedule for 2002

February 2, Soldier's Delight: Take 695 to Liberty Rd. west (MD 26). Go 5 miles and make a right onto Deer Park Rd. Go 1 mile and park on the left past the Visitor's Center.

February 16, Loch Raven, Morgan Mill: Take 695 to exit 29, Cromwell Bridge Rd. At the end of the ramp, make a left onto Cromwell Bridge Rd. Drive approximately 3 miles to the end and make a left onto Glen Arm Rd. Go 1 mile and make a left onto Manor Rd. Go 1.7 miles and make a left onto Morgan Mill Rd. Go to the end and park on Morgan Mill Rd. or Loch Raven Dr.

March 2, Loch Raven, Providence: Take 695 to Providence Rd. Go north for a little over 1 mile and park on the right side of the road across from the John Deere. If you get to a stop sign, you went too far.

March 16, Cromwell Valley Park: Take 695 to exit 29, Cromwell Bridge Rd. At the end of the ramp, turn left. Drive approximately 1 mile and the entrance to the park will be on your left. There is a small white sign.

March 30, Gunpowder Falls, East Hereford: Take 695 to 83 north. Take exit 27, Mt. Carmel Rd. Make a right at the end of the ramp onto Rt. 137. Go .4 miles to a T-intersection and turn left onto Rt 45 (York Rd.) and go 1.7 miles. Just before the road crosses the bridge over Big Gunpowder Falls, park in one of the small lots on both sides of the road.
