The young pup gradually opens his eyes, whining as the snow taps against his warm fur. His chestnut stomach rubs against the dirt as he attempts to stand. His mother brushes her nose against him, grooming him gently. The infant rolls down, his legs wobbling as his blue eyes are hazed with tears. Another pup rests to the side, her fur gleaming nutmeg as her eyes remain shut. Her chest rises and falls silently as she kicks her hind feet in her slumber. Another cub relaxes her neck upon the others stomach. She kicks her back leg aimlessly, as her gray tail swishes from side to side. Three lovely cubs; two females and one male. Her coat also of brown, swirling with gray along her sides. An unlikely couple for an angel and a demon to fall in love yet together they were as one. The mother groomed her pups beneath an overhang. The surrounding land rising above to hide the secret den. The male pup sniffed his nose among the outside world, the demonic fathers eyes burning down to watch his tiny son. The pups gray fur has a unique glint as he again tried to stand. He was fruitless also again, his watered eyes gazing up to his horrid father. The demon growled as the small pup rolled back into the tavern. The mother wrapped one of her tails around her sons side, nuzzling him gently as the two females sleep, Dear Talron, my love, what shall we name him? I have named the two girls Aamia and Lynia The small male watched his tail flick from side to side, growling with innocence towards it. The demonic father looked down to his pathetic offspring, watching him with a quiet smirk, Chason. The mother smiled at the son with a nod of approval, Chason it is. Another wolf suddenly nosed in the cave. Talron turned and growled furiously, opening his metallic jaws. The wolf leaped backward in surprised, Talron, it is only me, Balie, your dear sister. She walked down slowly as Talron grumbled under his breath. Balie walked over to the newly born pups, smiling with joy as she nosed dear little Chason, I admit my jealously to you, brother. She grinned to him then watched the infant play. Father, have you seen Lynia? Aamia glanced around from side to side, her eyes smiling with happiness as the juvenile leaped across the grassy hill. Talron opened one eye; the tree shading his back, then shook his head lightly. Chason stood amongst the river, his dusty fur flowing along with the water. The salmon darted around his paws whilst he watched them with a dazzling fascination. Aamia leaps from behind him, his ear flicks up as he gently steps to the side. His sister comes crashing down amongst the water, laughing as she rolls about on her back. You are talented, my brother. Your hearing is unique and sensitive. Mine is of dull and useless. She chuckles with her joyful laughter, watching her older brother with a gladdened fondness. He keeps his head lowered, glaring at the fish that pass him by. He smiles mostly to himself as Aamia leaps amongst the shallow rocks for hermit crabs. A sound then blared across the valley. Chason and Aamia both died silent as Talron lifted his head to the noise. It was loud and sudden; the birds flew to their endless sky as the crickets hid behind the towering grass. There was an abrupt bark then another noise blew throughout the air. Talron leaped to his feet, dashing up a clean-cut hill. Chason and Aamia quickly followed their father, stopping slowly behind him. The sun looked over the horizon one last time then slowly began to fall asleep. Lynia paced a small metal box, with bars grasping around her. She whined miserably then barked again. A strange animal then walks forth, standing upright on two legs, with loose skin. It lifted up an object then clicked a piece of it as the sound resounded across the valley once again. Lynia groaned then slammed to her side, drowsiness crawling around her. Talron snarled loudly, dashed down the hill, filling with anger as he leaped towards the two legged animal. Chasons mother walked from behind them, leveling to her childrens shoulders, Talron! Her stomach was swollen and her walking was clumsy. A young panther turned his head around the corner of Lynias cage. Talron slashed onto the creature, ripping at its face with his gigantic claws. The creature used its arm to slam Talron across the back. The wolf continued to rip at the fresh skin. Another two-legged animal approached and used a thick piece of wood to hit Talrons neck. A sudden crack was heard as Talron slipped to the floor, his legs twitching as he tried to regain his balance. The panther walked up to the demonic wolf as his eyes smiled with amusement. His flicked his tail to and fro as he watched the canine. Talron lowered his head somewhat as those enchanted golden eyes began to fade. The two-legged creature then lifted another object, different from the one before, then the loud sound one last time rung throughout the lands. Talron lay still as Lynia was carried off in that strange metal box. Chasons mother ran down to her fathers side, nuzzling him gently, yet old Talron did not move. She pinned her ears back then tilted her head and howled, she howled her heart out. It went on through most of the night, never leaving his side, the same as Aamia. Balie approached, her eyes aching with tears as they all sat around a memorial of the late demon. Chason stood to the back, his paws anchored to the floor. A small female cub, twirled around her forepaw. Only one, Chason thought she was beautiful. Silky pale fur, with brown glinting on her belly. He eyes glinted with a heroic blue whilst her muzzle resembled that of a fox. The three-year old Chason saw her more than his just cousin, but a special friend he knew he had to have. Aamia paid no attention to the child as she mourned her fathers death. Balie looked to the devastated wife of the demon, Daie, it will be alright. Daie did not listen to Balie, pulling away from her, she walked to her son. She sat upon her haunches, her inflamed belly noticeable, as she lifted her paws and removed her halo. Her wings faded whilst her tail became one. She then placed the golden halo over her sons head, You have a pure heart, my Chason. Do not walk in the paw prints of your father. Or you too shall be mourned to a miserable death. The halo sank around Chasons neck then disappeared. From that day on, she refused to ever morph to her original form again. Chason paced outside quietly, his mother amongst the small tavern. Aamia also sat to the side, her forepaws crossed and head lowered on the ground. The small pale child of Balies smiled up to Chason. Her love for him extended as his, his kindness to her was spoiled yet divine. Whining came forth from inside the cave as Balie walked out momentarily. Aamia lifted her head as Chason turned to her. Balie nuzzled her child as she looked to the oldest sibling, A litter of three, yet only one survived. A black male, resembles his father deeply. Come Colaa. She nosed behind her cubs rump. Colaa moved forward slightly, clawing on the ground to stay. Chason smiled then nodded to her as he walked inside the tavern. Balie bent over then gently latched her teeth around Colaas sides, slowly leaping off. Aamia climbed silently to her feet then poked her head beneath the overhang. Chason dragged the cold pups out into the chilly night, placing them, near the burial of his father. Aamia trotted in then curled up next to her mother. Chason came back, shaking his man absently as he looked to his new baby brother. Thus was the birth of the infamous SilverShot. The young child climbed to his feet almost instantly, Chason watching him silently as kindness breathed through his eyes. Silver was a jet black, his fur slicked back and smooth. His stomach was of white along with his paws and the under side of his tail. The small pup looked at his own shaking legs them up to his older brother, with a quick dog-like smile, his golden eyes shining with excitement and fantasy. The next morning Chason awoke with a slight cramp amongst his side. He climbed out of the tavern, licking his muzzle as yawning absently. He strolled to the edge of the trees. The sun already set high in the sky. Daie sat off to the side, at the base of a hill. Silver was at the top, sitting aimlessly under the shade, where only a few weeks prior, his father had laid there as well. Balie padded up from behind another hill, setting Colaa next to Silver as she walked down to Daie. Colaa tilted her head at Silver, being only a month older than him. Silver whined, scooting away, whilst the larger female intimidated him. Balie sat near Daie trying to calm her and ease her woes. Nothing was completed, Daie only wanted to morn the death of her husband. Cheer left her gleaming face as her eyes lingered with horrible sadness. Aamia sat by the forests edge. Her eyes watched her mother and brother carefully as she looked down. She then climbed to her feet, the feeling of intrusion rose into her heart. She turned to the forest then padded out of sight from the other wolves. One last familiar howl escaped her lips then all was silent. Chason sighed, watching his saddened sister leave. Her story was miserable, knowing she had a tough childhood amongst the other cubs. He could do nothing for her, everything she had loved was now gone. She was never the favorite of her parents and always the reject in play. Chason loved her with all his heart but Aamia never peered to her kind brothers glance. He then turned his vision to the young pups. Their frolic was full of happiness and joy whilst Chason swerved to the side, remaining distant from the others. He smiled, mostly to himself, glancing over to the creek. A low rumble suddenly came from behind him, a deep growl from somethings throat. He spun around, flipping his ears forward, as panic rose into his own throat. A large grizzly bear lurked within the shadows, its loose scruff waved as it walked. Its rounded ears were pinned back as its lips folded into a snarl. It leaped towards Chason then reared, swinging its paws toward him. Chasons ear suddenly dropped then he broke in a dash across the field. Balie and Daie turned to see this. The large bear quickly stalked behind the fleeing voice, the ground shook with fury. Chason dashed to his little brother, quickly dropping his head and snatching the scruff of Silver. He then grabbed Colaas tail, lifting his head up and continuing to run on. Balie whimpered then climbed to her feet, Daie remained still. Balie tugged on her scruff, attempting to move her as the bear disappeared at the base of a hill. Daie snapped at her then turned around, also rising to her feet. She stood firm then shouted as the bear came into view, Kill me monster. I no longer have happiness. My better half was taken away and depression lurks throughout my soul. Balie rammed into her side, trying to get her to back down. Daie turned to her, her eyes, dimming to white as she opened her mouth. A cold breeze blew from inside her, the arctic wind shivering into Balies fur. Chason stopped on a near by hill turning to look at his mother and aunt. He barked wildly, dropping the cubs to his front paws. Balie was blown backward tumbling down the large hill; she rolled to her feet, and then began to run up the other side. With one slash of the powerful grizzly, she was down. Blood stained into her white fur as she closed her eyes. The bear ripped at her neck, tearing his head from side to side. Chason was the only one who understood his mothers death wish. Talron was not only her husband, but also her soul mate. He was part of her in every way. Now they should live in happiness, together for eternity. The bear was not satisfied, as Balie ran up the other side, her foot tripped along a small jagged rock. A familiar crack was heard as she slammed down on her chest, sliding down the hill, her left forepaw was bent in a queer position. The bear charged down the hilltop. Daie remained still as the life drifted from her fragile bones. Chason also darted down, grabbing Balie by the scruff, pulling her as hard as he could. The bear leaped forward, his claws slamming down onto Chasons back, throwing him to the side. Balie whined as she beckoned for Chason to leave. Chason refused, leaping to the side then barking madly to intimidate the bear. The bear heed no attention as his right claw struck Balies ribs. Chason pounced forward, grabbing a hold of the bears leg, he snarled angrily for it to let her go. The bear turned to the gray wolf, and then smacked him almost ten feet away from him. Chason grunted as he slammed against the ground, he quickly turned back to Balie, who said her last words, Please take care of my baby, Chason. She closed her eyes and they never opened again. He whimpered, limping to his feet as he jogged up the hill. He grabbed onto Silvers scruff as Colaa trotted along by his feet.
He stumbled onto some flat territory; the sun broke onto his shoulder blades. Silver and Colaa turned to the left seeing the pond as they raced to the river front. They both leaped in, laughing with joy as their noise echoed through out the small valley. Chason looked to and fro as he spotted a small den, to the south, and a thicket of thorn bushes to his right. A howl then breached across the land. Silver and Colaa stopped as they looked around. A pack of wolves hurtled from inside the small cave. Leading in front was the small brown alpha. She glided with ease in front of the others. Colaa yipped then ran to Chason as Silver did the same. They had entered anothers territory. A pair of golden eyes watched from the shadows, examining Chasons every move. One gray male leaped onto Colaa, rolling with her as he nipped playfully at her scruff. Silver and Chason watched nervously as the curious Colaa returned the gesture. He stopped then rolled to the side as a young cream wolf came from the side. The alpha rested herself at the riverfront. Chasons eyes slipped to her then back to the juveniles. The gray wolf smiled, white arched his stomach, as his face was that of a German shepherd mutt, Welcome, have you come to run with the pack? I am Kaiju Yoma and this is Sarina. He beckoned to the cream wolf. Chason nodded respectfully, he also had caught the alphas eye. She slowly trotted over to two the other two wolves of her pack. I am Chason. This is my brother Silver and my cousin Colaa. We have traveled from the north in search of a new home. Our love ones were killed and we could no longer stay on homelands. The alpha nodded as Silver stood quietly. My name is Star Racer. You are welcome to join are pack. It is the pleasure of meeting you, Chason. I looked forward in getting to know you. She smiled slightly. Chason nodded to her, The pleasure is mine. Kaiju growled playfully as he nipped Colaas forepaws. He bounded to the south, breaking into a dash. Sarina looked to Silver as she grinned then barked at him. Silver pounced forward yet she easily moved to the side whilst he hit the ground. She chuckled as a dog would then darted behind a tree. Silver climbed to his feet then, staggering with hesitation, followed. Chason looked to Star racer, only with his eyes, his head was tilted somewhat to the side. The two grew close quickly. Both were lonely and both were lone. Within a few months, Chason soon became the alpha male of the BushKill Fall pack. The snow was soon to come, almost one year later, Colaa was bounding outside. She quietly followed a young faun, as Kaiju lurked to the right, and Sarina stalked to the left. With a sudden attack, she leaped from the bushes. Kaiju latched onto the fauns hips as Sarina attacked the ribs. The deer was down within moments as they quietly feasted upon it. Silver glanced to them then caught the sight of an old bull moose. He grinned anxiously then crawled towards her. His foot snapped a twig as his ears perked forward. The moose bellowed, lowering his head then charging for Silver. Silver dropped his ears then whimpered away. Chason chuckled as his brother dashed by. Star Racer sat at his side, rubbing her head into his strong neck. Her belly was swollen, causing her pain from time to time. She remained lazy, keeping behind the pack as Chason led the younger males with pride. A child walked amongst the territory. A new wolf of black and gray. Her fur was worn and old, shagged with starvation. She was young verging on one year, though she did not look her age. She was tiny and insignificant and she defiantly had a cold. Chason stopped in his tracks, looking to her in amazement. Known by most, he has a weak spot for orphans. Kaiju slammed into Chasons rump with Sarina behind him then Silver. Cendria stopped before she hit the others. Chason did not budge; Kaiju rubbed his head with his paw as Silver groaned. Sarina tilted her head to the side as she glanced to the child. Cendria smiled towards Silver then looked to the child. The infant shivered with fear as the alpha male approached her. She cowered downward, with her tail between her legs. He smiled with kindness as Silver rolled his eyes, Dear child, where are your superiors? She looked the alpha with watery eyes, They left me to the scavengers. Sarinas eyes began to fill with tears as Kaiju watched silently. Silver sat up, standing next to his older brother. Why is that? Silver snapped forever to dislike others younger than him, always to seem himself dominant to all. Chason glared to him then at the child with a nod. I am not as the other wolves. I am an omega from their pack. She said slowly. Where are they? Chason asked, tilting his head to the side. Dead, murdered, executed, and killed. She looked away to hide the tears flowing down her cheeks. Chason, with his golden heart, walked up to her then nuzzled her side gingerly, You may stay with our pack, child. We will watch over you, all are welcomed. She looked up to him, her eyes glazed with tears, May I, dear sir? Silver lolled his tongue with slight disgust of the child finding no intention to ever have his own offspring. He bounded off quietly, Sarina followed, stalking amongst the old bull moose. Star had traveled back to the cave. The wind began to blow strong as snow abruptly dripped from the sky. Chason lowered his head then grabbed the pup by the scruff, walking back towards the den. Kaiju barked towards the vanishing Sarina. She looked back to him then over to Silver, with another nod. The snow has come; we must retreat to the den. Silver snorted, glaring back to the moose then following Sarina. Chason slowly trotted into the cave, stopping at the entrance, the other wolves jumped by him, separating in the cave. Chason walked over to where Star was lying, in the far corner, he dropped the pup as he reached her. We have a new addition to our pack. He said quietly. Indeed. She replied, as she turned to look at him. She moves herself slightly as Chason looked at a newborn white pup, lying at her side. He lifted his eyes up to her Only one? She nodded as she looked to the small female at Chasons feet, Who might we be? She shivered, hiding behind Chasons forepaw, Nidia, maam. Chason lowered his head then pushed her towards Star, She is your new mother, Nidia. He smiled as lifted his head. She turned to him, her eyes sparkling with happiness, Are you my father? He nodded slightly then lied down next to them. A few months later, the winter raged on, dark snow clouds covering the western sky. The pup leaped outside, barking wildly, as he rolled in the fresh snow. Nidia walked out, now plumped with a lustful fur coat. Star nuzzled Chason as he walked out. She stayed behind, smiling with a light sigh as she lied down. Kaiju, Cendria, Colaa, Sarina, and Silver also strolled outside, talking amongst themselves as their eyes scanned the meadow. Their voices were distant as Cendria shook her head Its too dangerous. She whispered. Silver chuckled as a dog would them smiled as Kaiju and Sarina grinned. Colaa listened quietly to her cousins words. Nidia walked up to them, What are you guys talking about? Silver turned to her, always to have something against the younger pup, Were going to take down the bull moose. Her eyes opened wide as she looked at him with excitement, May I come, I promise to help. Sarina nodded as Silver led the six of them off to the side, including Cendria, who followed. Chason lolled his tongue to the side, panting heavily from dehydration. He watched the six walk off as he leans over to pick up his son. He slowly trotted over to a thicket, placing his son amongst the bushes, Stay still, I will return. He walked over to the lake, scratching at the thin ice until he broke through. He lowered his head then began lapping at the water. The snow clouds hurtled suddenly for the BushKill Fall meadow. Snow stormed down, the small pup sneezed as he shivered. Chason lifted his head in shock as the ice collected on his fur. Silver snarled a she leaped onto the bull mooses hips. Colaa ripped at its forelegs whilst Kaiju held onto its scruff. Nidia bounced around, advancing and retreating to snap at the animals legs. Cendria stood to the side, watching quietly among the trees. The snow carried to them as well, not too far from the lake. Chason tilted his head back and howled for the wolves as he turned to make his way to his son. A pair of eyes lurked within the darkness, stalking around the prey. Sarina growled as she slashed against the mooses flank. Kaiju leaped off hearing the calling as he turned back to the other wolves, Come, and leave it. Cendria pounced behind Kaiju with Sarina and Nidia following. Colaa stumbled on her feet leaping away, Silver did not hear the call as he stopped and looked to his cousin. The moose took the advantage and bucked, slamming Silver in the head, sending him a dazzling twenty feet across the snow. Colaa whimpered as she ran towards him, the moose lowered his head and charged for her. Silver coughed blood raging from his skull and mouth. Colaa whined as she dashed from the moose, Chason! She yelled at the top of her lungs. Silver shivered as the moose walked away. Chason leaped over to the thicket, his paws dragging in the snow. As he reached where his son was, there was nothing there. He whined mournfully as he pawed in the snow, he hit something soft, as he uncovered his frozen son. His eyes went to pain once again, his memories flashing to his dying father and mother. He heard the whine of Balie and the agonizing crack of his fathers back. He breathed heavily trudging backward, to see Colaa standing there, Silver needs help. The moose She shivered, he nosed her to get to the den. He then ran as fast as he could to where his brother is. A dark paw latched its claws onto the body of the dead child then drew him back into the darkness. Kaiju, Colaa, Cendria, Nidia, and Sarina approached the cave but it was gone. The storm laughed in their faces as the ice pierced their cheeks. Colaa turned seeing a small overhang near the trees. She groaned as he walked over there, the other slowly followed, What about Star? Kaiju shivered, Cendria shook her head. Chason looked to and fro, frantically for his brother. The snow latched onto his knees, pain rose throughout his legs as he stopped moving when he entered the meadow. Blood trailed over to where his brother lay. Silver whined as he held his forepaws to his head. The snow rage on, cackling in Chasons face. Silver coughed, lying his head down as his eyes drifted over to his brother. Chason groaned as he made his way over to him, standing within fifteen feet, his eyes begin to water. Maybe it was only the piercing wind that made him cry, maybe it was the agony that his brother was feeling. He could not walk any farther, his knees locked once again. This time they did not break, holding him away from his brother. Help Silver coughed, his blood blinding him whilst he tried to get a glance at his brother. Chason. Silver looked to him as his eyes filled with mournful tears. He then laid his head down and never raised it again. Chason stood, his eyes glazed with tears as he watched the life get sucked from his little brother. |
