~*~ Chapter 55 ~*~
REDDING, CA – THE ADDAMS’ HOUSE – APR.7th, 2002 – SUNDAY
The sound of her cell phone ringing woke Kirstin up from her thoughts. She checked the caller ID before answering it. She took a deep, deep breath before answering it.
“Hey.” she faked a happy voice.
“Hey, baby. What’s up?” Ashley sounded genuinely happy.
“Nothing much. Just lying in my bed, thinking…”
“About?”
“Oh, stuff…” she wasn’t gonna tell Ashley her thoughts, especially over the phone “So… when are you coming home?”
“That’s why I called you. I’m getting there tomorrow morning.”
“Oh, great! I miss you so much.” it was true. Kirstin needed Ashley by her side now more than ever.
“Good. Because I won’t have to work for the remaining days.”
“Great!”
“Yep! We’re gonna spend all this time together.”
“I’m so happy to hear that.” Kirstin didn’t know why, but she felt a tear sliding down her cheek.
“I’m happy, too. It’s gonna be fun. I’m gonna have to go shopping for something to wear to the Charity Event.”
“Go shopping? Why?”
“Well, it’s formal. I don’t think I have anything formal there in Redding.”
“It’s formal? Don’t kid me.”
“Yeah…” Ashley answered “Didn’t I tell ya?”
“No! If you have said it, I wouldn’t have accepted it. You know how much I hate those, Ash!”
“I do. But I’m sorry, I thought I had told you.” Ashley was being sincere.
“Great! Now I’m gonna have to go shopping too.”
“That’s good. Then we can go shopping together.”
“Yeah, yeah…” Kirstin didn’t sound too excited.
“Well… let me go. It’s really late and I’m so tired. But I’ll see you tomorrow, alright? As soon as I get to Redding, I’ll go straight to you house.”
“Alright, baby.” Kirstin smiled to the phone.
“Well… then have a good night. Dream about me.”
“I will.” Kirstin kept the smile on “Love you.”
“Love you, too. Bye.”
“Bye.”
Kirstin placed her cell phone on the nightstand, got up and turned off the lights. She slid under the covers and for the first time that whole day, she felt happy. Ashley was coming.
REDDING, CA – THE ADDAMS’ HOUSE – APR.8th, 2002 – MONDAY
“No!” Kirstin exclaimed and placed her hand over her eyes as the lights on her room turned on. She then felt someone kiss her belly. She looked down and saw Ashley there “Oh, my God!” she hugged him tight.
“Easy, easy.” Ashley smiled. She was hugging him really tight “I can see you really missed me, huh?”
“I did, Ash.” She backed away to look at him, but soon enough was hugging him again “I’m so happy to see you.”
“I am, too, beautiful.”
“What time is it?” she asked as she pulled away from the hug.
“It’s almost 11.”
“Oh, ok. Let me go to the bathroom, I’ll be right back.” Kirstin said as she got up from the bed and headed to the bathroom across the hall.
“So…” Kirstin said when she re-entered the room “What are we doing today?”
“Hm… I don’t know… I thought we could go out for lunch and then go see a movie or something and then we can drop by the mall and find something for the Charity Event.”
“That sounds good.” Kirstin sat beside him on her bed.
“Good.” Ashley kissed her lightly on the lips.
They pulled back and Kirstin stood up, offering her hand out to Ashley. He took it and stood up in front of her.
“What?” Kirstin asked as Ashley kept staring at her.
“Nothing.” Ashley smiled, but continued to stare.
“What?” Kirstin asked smiling this time, Ashley looking her up and down.
“It’s just that…” he got closer to her and placed his right hand on her shoulder “I missed this.”
“This what?” Kirstin frowned.
“Your skin…” Ashley stroked her shoulder “Your smell…” Ashley leaned closer to her neck and inhaled her scent “Your taste…” now Ashley kissed her neck.
“Hm…” Kirstin moaned. She was going crazy with his touch.
“Yeah…” Ashley whispered to her ear. He kissed down to her neck and stopped on her shoulder, pushing down the pajamas’ spaghetti strap and kissing her bare shoulder.
“Ok…” Kirstin pulled him to her and kissed him hungrily on the mouth. She had to take control. She didn’t want to have sex with him right there, right now. She was still a little traumatized, a lot was going on in her mind and she was at her parents’ house. She didn’t feel comfortable doing that when she knew her parents were either down stairs or in the next room.
“Oh, God. Why does it always feel like our first kiss every time you kiss me like that?” Ashley asked as they pulled back from the kiss.
“Don’t know. But it’s good to see that pleasure in your face.”
“Well…” Ashley smiled and leaned in to kiss her again.
“Hm…” Kirstin moaned, but soon pulled back from the kiss “Let me go change so we can go, alright?”
“Yeah, ok.” Ashley looked a little disappointed, but Kirstin decided to pretend she hadn’t noticed it. It wasn’t easy for her to turn him down, but she felt it was the right thing to do. At least, for now anyway.
Kirstin gathered some clothes and headed to the bathroom. She soon returned the room, wearing a pair of khaki skirt, a purple baby-tee and sandals.
“Ready to go?” she took her purse and then Ashley’s hand.
“Yep. You look great, by the way.”
“Thanks.” she placed a kiss on her cheek and they headed downstairs.
“Mom, we’re going out.” Kirstin told her mother, who was sitting on the couch in the living room.
“Ok. Where are you going?”
“We’re having lunch, seeing a movie and then we’ll go shopping for the Charity Event.” Ashley answered Mrs. Addams.
“Oh, ok, dear. Have fun.” Dawn said through a smile.
“Thanks.” Ashley and Kirstin said in unison and trailed to the front door.
“So…” Ashley asked “Which restaurant?”
“No idea. It’s your call.” Kirstin said while opening the door. As soon as she opened it, Jared’s figure appeared in front of them.
