~*~ Chapter 1 ~*~
SANTA MONICA, CA – December 2nd – Sunday
“Yeah, but hurry up! I miss you too. Yeah. Ok. Bye.”
Ashley hung up the phone and stared to the view. What a great view he had! The O-Town guys had moved to a new house in Santa Monica, California. Once again, Ashley had won the master bedroom. In that room there was a balcony and that’s where he was, staring at the ocean. He, then, heard a knock on the door.
“Hey, Ash. Can I come in?”
“Yes, sure Erik. What’s up?”
“Nothing much. Just wanna see what you are up to. Trevor and I are going to a club later and I wanted to see if you wanna go.”
“Oh, I can’t. Hailey is coming. She’s helping me get unpacked.”
“It’s about damn time! We’ve been here for a month now and you are the only one who still hasn’t finished unpacking.”
“Well, you know me. But there are just 4 boxes left.”
“Ok. So you two are gonna stay home?”
“Probably, yeah.”
“And when do you go to Redding?”
“Well, our days off start when?”
“I think on the 14th.”
“So, we are going then.”
“We? Hailey is going too?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, she’s gonna meet the parents! Big step. Huge step!”
“Yeah, well… But we’ve been together for 8 months now. I feel it’s the right time.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Good for you, man. I’m glad you’ve definitely moved on with your life and forgot about that other girl.” Ashley turned his gaze away and sat on a chair. Erik felt a strange vibe “You have forgotten about that other chick, right?”
Ashley stood up and headed to the balcony.
“Yeah, of course I have, Erik.”
“Ash, I don’t wanna see you hurt like that again man. So look at me and tell me you’ve forgotten her.”
Ashley turned to face his friend.
“Yes, Erik, I have forgotten about Kirstin.”
“Good.” Erik didn’t believe him too much, but decided to let it go. He trailed to the door “But hey, if you change your mind about clubbing, just let me know, alright?”
“Yeah, sure. Thanks.”
“No problem, bro.” Erik closed the door behind him.
Ashley stood at the balcony, thinking. It was obvious he hadn’t forgotten about Kirstin. How could he? He hadn’t thought about her for a while, though. The band was taking most of his time. Since the show Making the Band ended, the band was focused on writing songs for the new album. The band took most of Ashley’s time, so he hadn’t been thinking about Kirstin too much. But now that Erik had brought that up…
“It still hurts sometimes… it really does.” he felt the urge to cry, but he wouldn’t. He promised he wouldn’t shed another tear for Kirstin. He then heard another knock on the door “Come in.”
“Hey you!” a too smiley face greeted him from the door, closing it behind her.
“Hey! You’re here already!”
“Yeah. I was shopping nearby, so… I missed you.”
“Missed you too.” Ashley said, hugging Hailey really tight. Hailey Christensen was a model. They met each other for the first time at an MTV party and kept bumping into each other until they started dating. Hailey was gorgeous. She was 5'8'', her hair was black with red highlights, kind of short in a modern hair-cut, beautiful hazel eyes, totally fit, really athletic body. She was a catalog model and was from San Francisco.
“Wow! What a beautiful sunset!” Hailey exclaimed. Just at that time, the sun was setting and the sky was a beautiful mixture of pink, orange and yellow.
“Yes.” Ashley kissed her passionately on the mouth. When he pulled back, Hailey was breathless.
“Wow…” she smiled.
“Come. Let’s sit.” he got her hand and let her to bed.
“So, I’m helping you unpack?”
“Yes, if that’s ok with you.”
“Of course it is. But let’s start then.” she got up from the bed all excited.
“Good to know you are really up to this, because that’s the kind of energy I’ll need to motivate me.”
“Come on. Get up!” Hailey grabbed both his hands to get him up from the bed “The sooner we finish it, more time we’ll have to ourselves later.”
“Hm, good thinking! So let’s open some boxes!”
And they went to open one of the boxes on the floor.
