I was sitting in my room, quietly contemplating a few apartments I had pulled up on the Internet when both my brothers came in, unannounced, and sat on my bed. I turned my chair around and looked at them quizzically. Can I help you?
We are tired of you blowing off these perfectly good women. Were giving you one more chance before we tell Mom youre never giving her grand kids. That was the ultimate threat. My mother was always adamant about having grandchildren. She been packing it into our brains since we were little to find a good girl and settle down. I had already found mine and screwed up, but my mother had yet to realize that.
You wouldnt dare. I glared at them.
We would. It seemed that Isaac was the spokesperson for both of them.
Shes going to have grand kids. I just have to work things out with their mother first. I spun back around and continued my search for an apartment, determined to find one and move out by the end of the week.
Meanwhile, you are going on this date. Shes a nice woman. Her name is Alicia. Shes perfect for you. Zac spoke for the first time.
I dont trust you anymore. Not after that Veronica woman. I dont think anyone has ever been so persistent in trying to get me to sleep with them I found an apartment I liked and clicked on its picture to read more about it.
And you never did sleep with her.
Or Aubry. Isaac added.
And I wont sleep with this Alicia woman either. Why are you so obsessed with me having a sex life? You need to work on your own sex lives. I dont need one.
Yes, you do. Everyone needs a sex life.
Ive done my share of sleeping around. I dont need that anymore to be happy.
But you arent happy. You never leave the house anymore. Its depressing. I heard Zac say, but by then I was emailing the owner of an apartment I wanted to buy so that I could get more information.
Ill be leaving the house soon. Permanently.
Youre leaving? You cant leave before I do.
Watch me. I turned the computer off and left the room.
