An easy conversation seemed to bubble up from nowhere. The three sitting in the bright sun as they all admired the babe. But before long, Daphne's reporters instincts go the better of her and she began to 'dig' for some gems of information, hopeing to get a story out of this as well as the beautiful nephew she already had gained. Zac was a bit reluctant at first, then realized, he had nothing to loose and nothing to hide. A wonderous thing had occured in his presence. It was something that should be celebrated. Besides, he was very proud of his Mom, jumping in like that and knowing what to do. He believed, even if she hadn't had seven children of her own, she still would have known what to do. She was just that intellegent. He crowed about her in such a glowing way, that it nearly distracted Daphne from what she really wanted to find out. Who had seen her sister amongst all that chaos and saved her and the life of her child? She summised it was him, since he was the only one to come calling. But before she got the chance to ask, the child began to fuss to be fed. When Lauren began to unbutton her nightgown, Zac knew it was time to excuse himself and take his leave. He hurridley did so with appologies to them for takeing up their time.
"Thank you... for everything!" Lauren called out as he neared the door. He turned and gave her a last shining smile, a little salute with a nod of his head and he was gone.
"Drat!" Daphne breathed as she sat heavily in the vacated chair. Lauren chuckled as the boy began to suckle.
"What?" Don't tell me you wanted his number?" Lauren teased. Her gest gentle barb. The sister laughed.
"No, I just wanted to find out more about what happened last night, and now I've lost that chance. We'll probably never see him again." She resigned to her concious.
"I can tell you what happened last night." Lauren enticed. Daphne looked up from chewing her nail expectantly.
" A miracle!" Lauren breathed, her gentle smile filled with tender love for her child as she watched him hungrily nurse. Daphne could hardly refuse that as an answer. It softened her heart and she smiled in agreement as she rose and sat on the edge of the bed, taking up a tiny hand in her own to stroke his long fingers lovingly.
"That it was... a miracle indeed!" She agreed, and thought nothing more of lost oppurtunities
