(Above Picture is the desk of Bill W. where the Big Book was written.)
I wanted to clarify something's about this web site. I started this site because I had all kinds of excuses for not working a program of recovery. Here of some of the excuses:
Lost my meeting book.
I want to smoke at a meeting.
I need child care.
That meeting is too late or too early.
I remember where the meeting was but forget the time.
I lost my Daily Reflection.
I Lost My Big Book.
So I looked at all these bad excuses and started to answer them at school, by putting the information on a local free web page for me to see everyday and look at my program, which was non-existent. I saw how my disease was in control of my thinking and my will. The only excuse I still can not fix, with this web page, is Prayer. The one thing that could have, should have , would have worked if I just did it. Another thing was working the Steps with my sponsor. My sponsor can not keep me sober but he can guide me thru this mess called my thinking.
Living in Licking County Ohio and getting sober here is a Blessing and I will tell you why. We have one of the best Addictions Hospital's in the country called Shepard Hill Hospital. Along with other great facilities in Columbus and Perry County. I have noticed what a lot of people do after they go thru these places, they transplant themselves in the county. By doing this the recovery community is larger than the average size of a county, which also brings some great people in recovery here.
This county has an average of 7 meetings a day 7!! That is a Blessing!!
Here are the prayers we do in the fellowship:
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
Have you ever said "Well that ain't in the book!" well it just might be..
