HOW-TO TIPS AND TRICKS HELP

Configuring the router to block Port 113

For more information about this port, click here.  To configure your router to block this port, follow these steps:

1. In your browser, type in your router's web configuration IP address in the address bar (refer to your router's user manual for this information) and press the Enter key.

2. Enter the user name and password, if necessary (again, your router's user manual should have this information).

3. Navigate through the router's web configuration interface to the Virtual Server section (also known as Port Forwarding on other routers) and supply the required information like the one shown below.

Choose a Private IP number that you don't use and that falls outside the the DHCP server's address pool (you have to refer your router's manual for this information).  For example, if the address pool is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199, use 192.168.0.200 (assuming of course, that you don't use this IP address).

4. Apply the changes and restart your connection, if necessary.  If you want to check if the port is blocked, click here.
