: My comment still stands. There was no war declared and no murderous intention spoken of in the scriptures.

As you wish. But my comment still stands: God invented the sword.

: On the other hand I've read a lot of your posts and I feel sad for you because you do not appear to be very happy. It's not often
we ever see a positive posting from you.

Actually I'm about as happy as most people get. I just wear a different hat when posting to H2O. As for being positive, I don't think that there is much positive about the JW religion, and since they're the focus of H2O that comes out clearly in my posts. And of course, there are plenty of attempts at being positive toward their religion coming from JW apologists.

: What happened to you in your life to make you so bitter toward everyone and everyone's
ideas? I wish I could take some of that for you; give you a hug. Being so down and negative all the time must be very tiring. I wish
you some happiness in your life.

I certainly appreciate your concern, and I suspect that if we met in person you'd see that I'm basically very happy and positive about most things. However, I've spent a lot of time on the Net dealing with a wide variety of people in various discussion forums. The thing I've come to detest is when ignorant people arrogantly set forth really stupid things that a bit of research would have set them straight about. It's the same thing with the Witnesses. There you have a bunch of ignorant people in Brooklyn setting forth their own dreams as if they were God's thoughts. This has caused untold suffering for many people.

As for me personally, my initial gripe with the WTS was that I discovered that they hadn't told the truth about a lot of things related to science and medecine. As I researched various issues over the years, a pattern of intellectual dishonesty emerged. Eventually I spoke of these findings with various JWs in my family, all of whom reacted as I I were a pariah or simply refused to deal with the problems I raised. After getting this kind of reaction I realized that something was very wrong, and I began to read what some critics had to say. I verified everything and ended up realizing that a lot of the critics were even worse than the JWs, such as the super-emotional fundy types. I realized that the dishonesty evident in WTS writings about science extended to the religious arena, and that pretty well killed my trust in the WTS organization. My wife at the time gradually abandoned me as a husband, declaring that she couldn't be a companion to me as long as we had religious differences. Plenty of other nasty personal things happened after I made my position clear regarding the WTS. Now I'm very happily remarried to an ex-JW, who is hoping that I'll get over this H2O business and get on with life. That will happen pretty soon.
