Hi Canadian,

You should be sure to have discussed the likely outcomes (maybe they do not seem likely to her) of the discussion with your wife, and what her reaction will be in advance.

You should have her agreement that certain outcomes are indicitive of her very conditional relationship with the congregation. She could prepare the HLC brother with the source of your information (you have researched it on the Internet and the blood site) and that he should come prepared to discuss all of the issues raised there. She should understand that (his) bringing down the shutters in a discussion is OK (expected) but you and your wife agree some form of private communication of the fact so that she acknowledges where the discussion has ended up. (wink wink)

This can be a good basis for her either leaving (don't suggest this), or taking a private conscience decision on the matter which she never reveals to anyone (if she wants to stay).

This way you can keep a sane discussion without it getting to the "you have your opinions, we have ours and that's the way it is", or worse, "you are a worshipper of Satan" accompanied by angst, etc.

Love,
Andrew.
