One thing you never hear talk of among JWs is that of prayer. How come they are not encouraged to pray? Of course they couldn't pray for the usual things like world peace (Comf, 5GJW---don't start up again!:-), or "the poor souls in purgatory" ;-D or for the world to be a better place.
I never heard of a church that encouraged prayer so little. As a Catholic I often hear that we should pray for everyone. This includes those considered to be enemies, those who don't believe in God (Jan, there could be people praying for you) or anyone else. They say that only through prayer can you have a personal relationship with God.
So what of it? Why the lack of prayer? Meetings at KHs, is that your time of prayer? I personally have been to such meetings and the people are very bored and just waiting to get out of there (at least the one I went to). Are JWs encouraged to pray to hasten the End of the World? Or perhaps the destruction of 99.9% of the human race?
I was just curious. Maybe I'm simple but I just don't get it.
