I could barely read it once without chuckling! It was definitely a "spin" and as has already been pointed out in this thread, one that is likely to go completely over the heads of all but a few intelligent people who, like yourself, still have to read it "several times" for it to sink in. They accomplished what they wanted, and left a paper trail for them to fall back on, when they finally end up admitting that 607 is a bogus date, or at the very worst, completely de-emphasize it.
