Sounds like a flying vessel of some type, also in Ezekiel, the Epic of Gilgamesh. No one wants to hear that if we aren't created we may be biologically engineered. Why would evolved creatures go beyond even rudimentary intelligence

I would agree with you that much of what (the skeptics call pseudoscience) evidence is ignored by scientists are things that don't fit their pre-concieved ideas.
Unexplained, baffling archaeological finds that
just don't fit in. Bible fundies have the same problem with the mud encased remains of a great ship 6000 ft up on Mt. Utarta. It is only 18 miles from Mt. Ararat, but it is also shaped like a ship instead of a box, and the remains are
measured out as Egyptian cubits and not Hebrew, hence the vessel is larger than the Bible says.
It was rediscovered in 1947 and explored again in the '80s. Skeptics claim that it is a rock outcropping but it also has regular intervals
of iron ore deposits the size of large spikes.This area has been held to be the reputed site of the ark by Moslems. There are also 15 ton drag stones with holes in the tops for large rope insertion.
Right now (and for years) there are
no more expeditions because of the Kurds fighting with the Turks. Ironic, neither the skeptics nor the fundies want it to be the ark for it would prove the Bible PARTIALLY correct.
It was evidently still in recognizable shape up until
the middle ages. It was mentioned in numerous ancient writings, Beroesus, Josephus all considered it real and existent. The Mesopotamian accounts of Gilgamesh actually are more accurate than the Christian/Judaic writings of it's building
material and construction.
No one can say how a 513ft long "vessel" came to be several hundred miles from the nearest sea or lake. Check out the "Ark of Noah" by David Fasold at your library. Could the earth have been less mountainous
10000 years ago so the vessel (and flood waters) would not have been at such great height? The book also shows how air problems and buoyancy problems could have been dealt with.
The book also goes into comparisons of the flood stories
and 10 kings or patriarchs of pre-flood myths from China to the Americas. It is a fascinating read.
The alleged sightings on Mt. Ararat have been debunked numerous times.
