Hi justme,

funny you speak of St. Matthew's Passion - I intend to go (if I can sort out my work obligations with colleagues in a Muslim country out first) to a performance of the Messiah in a Church of England Cathedral tonight - just for a bit of light relief from the Memorial ;-)

I can't agree with you more - the Memorial itself is mostly a tutorial on what it is all about - there is no real encouraging/emotional/compelling aspect to it at all. There's no time for any real personal introspection or consideration - perhaps that's getting a bit close to Christendom ;-)

This sort of introspection is suggested by Paul in 1 Cor 11:27-29 - a passage not discussed in last night's talk.

It speaks of scrutiny - the only scrutiny last night was a scrutiny of who was partaking (smile).

Love,
Andrew.
