Sounds like another double standard to me.
I was also told not to do any business with other churches, and that it was a no-no to get involved with any "worldly" organizations or groups. Yet I know an elder who joined the chamber of commerece so he could get cheap insurance rates for his employees.
Maybe when money is involved, and you are more than just a rank and file member, its OK!
