As one human being to another, I express sincere sympathy. Only a few weeks ago there was a seminar on blood-borne pathogens at work, and vaccinations for hepititis A and B. It appears there are none for C yet.

It would appear that technology which would allow us to go to the moon and Mars would have found a substitute for blood by now. But since medical science often takes the stand that there is no substitute for blood, perhaps researchers aren't trying hard enough.

Even if I were not a Witness, I would not want a blood transfusion. Too risky, despite the controls in place. Even with only a slight chance of infection by a blood-borne pathogen, that's no comfort if that chance falls upon you.

I wish you a speedy recovery and way to cope with this infection.
