Practicus,
As has been pointed out, we were all there, some for many, many years. I would never say that witnesses are unhappy people. My daughter pioneers and seems very happy. My concern is that is a happiness built on lies and
that it is a happiness purchased with the grief of others. My daughter won't speak to disfellowshipped relatives that have loved and been good to her all of her life. They are not guilty of sex crimes, murder or somesuch. They are
guilty of putting up christmas ornaments. They belong to no other church, preach no other religion, they just got tired of it all, had doubts, dropped out and started living as they wanted. No drugs, crimes, immoral acts, and she won't
speak. It hurts them, it hurts me and it doesn't serve God. I believe the first "faithful and discreet slave" that "Christ examined and chose" started this group on a false path and they have only drifted further from the truth. Yes,
they are happy, as are the Mormons, the Moonies and other mindcontrolled cults that disrupt families and forbid questioning from within. If the WatchTower Society ran the U.S. or any other country they would institute an inquisition to
rival the Catholic's. Just because they are smiling, being persecuted, and dying, does not mean that there happiness is based on truth. The Ku Klux Klan has a big time at every cross burning I would imagine. I would rather they show
love for family and friends who have done nothing wrong but disagree than to smile in field service or at a cong. get-together. I was happy in, until I started seeing what I was in.
