I agree with a lot of what you said. People get this idea that Rick has nothing better to do than to lounge around H2O all day long. Given that he's the only active administrator, I think people are getting a little too expecting of him.
Here's how I see it. The bottom line is that the FPP needs to be revised, and that's all there is to it. Either that or move this room into a focused forum room. That's the only way this forum will continue with the free speech that we've enjoyed (well, up until a few days ago anyway).
Other than that, as I've said, and I'll say it again, Moderators need to be instructed on how to interpret the FPP. And until that happens, the complaints about moderators will continue because the FPP will continue to be applied inconsistently. The only system that will work is that the moderators are told how to interpret the FPP (strictly or liberally), and all posts that are in violation are red-flagged by other posters. That gets rid of both excuses as to inconsistency: 1. That moderators are biased, and 2. That moderators can't read every post.
That's really the only way I can see that a consistent moderation of this board will work.
Of course, that will dampen "free speech", which is why the FPP needs to be revised.
