Good points? Hmmmm, they keep some unemployed people off the streets and working at Bethel?
They use up those boring evenings and weekends?
Seriously, I don't think the WTBS is going away soon, so reform is the most practical option.
For people in extreme circumstances, the JW faith has some value. I would rather see someone as a JW than as a drug addict or a criminal.
Some marriages are saved when the couple become JWs.
Although I am very critical of the JW faith (I consider the WTBS arrogant to the point of being dangerous.), and although I know it is a cult, it is a lot better than most cults that I have read about.
The JW belief in a paradise earth can be very comforting to elderly people, or the very ill.
I found the resurrection hope is very comforting for those who have lost loved ones in death.
When I was a dyed-in-the-wool JW, I almost died. I found the resurrection hope very comforting, as I would die faithful.
