Tuebingen
Tuebingen is a small University town to the southeast of Stuttgart, along the Neckar River. Craig studied here for a bit during one of his trips to Germany.

It's a nice place to walk around and a nice place for a bit of shopping, so I've heard, but don't try to shop on a Sunday, unless all you
really want are some postcards.

The tower of the
Stiftskirche zu St. George has great views of the town.

One fun thing to do is to take a poleboat tour on the river. Our guide talked a little about the history of the town - faithfully translated by Craig - and about the annual pole boat races. He sang a bit in German and Italian, showed us an article from a couple years ago in which he was featured (with a color photo, no less), and showed Greg how to use the pole to guide the boat.

The Museum Schloss Hohentuebingen had a special exhibit of Duckomenta, which re-did pieces of art and history (e.g., the Mona Lisa, the statue of Romulus and Remus with the she-wolf) using Disney characters.

One of my personal favorites was the anthropological find of "Lucy" as a prehistoric perserved duck.
