About Us!
The purpose of this website is to advertise for my fictional uncle's fake painting company. The website serves to offer the customer a fair amount of information regarding costs, past examples of work and a little information about the current employees and owner. Each page was created, altered and repeatedly tested to ensure the look and feel was as intended. Getting everything to look and function as it should took a fair amount of trial and error. Everything came out as expected and I feel it serves a basic purpose and offers a small amount of humor and flair.
The final product was slightly different than the initial plan. I feel my goals were a bit loftier than I should have made them. In the end simplicity made the website look good and left it functioning well. I really fell in love with the wood panel background and feel it fits with the theme of house painting. The navigation bar was tricky in that I wanted something that drew the eye of the viewer but didnt clash with the wood panel. After many different color attempts I really like the dark blue/purple that I chose. I think the simplicity of the table and form choices are great in that most people are used to them. The simple pop up upon clicking submit leaves the viewer knowing they sent their information and as a customer they would know they are going to get a call or email soon.
