Melbourne, Australia: "extremely clean (sparkling shared bathrooms). The manager's name is Mostafa Shafy and is very hands on ... his staff are also friendly, very helpful and unobtrusive. I've never plugged a hotel before, but Lialy's up there with the best of the budgets and I always like helping out other travellers." August 4, 2003

UK: "Its very clean, friendly and comfortable, they also give you breakfast, carry your bags, and fetch you take-out at night if you ask. My husband, daughter and I stayed there when we are in Cairo, not entirely sure of the prices but we only ever paid about £5 a night, and we much preferred it to a posh hotel. You can walk straight in and get a room... The guy that runs it is called Mostafa, looked a bit scary at first but he is really, really nice. Helped me and my husband out loads when we were struggling to get married! Hope you like it if you go." July 22, 2003

After seeing several hotels in Cairo, we found this hostel the cleanest and the best of all of them. Well situated in the city center, big and clean rooms and showers, friendly staff, great! Also, good breakfast and internet cafe downstairs is a big plus. Good luck! December 14, 2002

Melbourne, Australia: Lialy Hostel you were a lifesaver. Arrived in Cairo 2:45 am and found our way to ------ Hotel. Not impressed at all. Found our way to this beautiful hostel.
