Bio
Coby Justin Slagle was born in late 1987. There is speculation that he was born in the 70's to a black family due to his overwhelming knowledge of the black culture. That is of course besides the fact that he is an absolute monster on a bass guitar. At the young age of 4, he was introduced to the drums. He would follow that for about 5 or 6 years before giving in to the bass guitar at age 13. Coby's first bass, the "2 a.m." bass was given to him when he was 13. The second bass, the "High Noon" bass, was acquired exactly 6 months after his 13th birthday. 2 a.m. and High Noon are still in action today.
Along with an extreme love of music,(especially the "black" kind) Coby enjoys candlelight dinners, longs walks on the beach, and gazing at the stars on a summers night.
He doesn't really know how he got interested in music. His dad is a drummer, so Coby kind of just followed him and did what he did. Coby hated general music class in elementary school. He really didn't know what got him to play bass. He remembers when he first started playing, he was so ignorant. HE THOUGHT JIMI HENDRIX PLAYED BASS!!! How bad does that sound? But over time, he really got into it. He still is(obviously)! Coby thinks he would rather play music than do anything else in the world. "It is the coolest thing to write your own songs, record them, and listen to yourself and say, 'THAT'S ME PLAYING THAT!'"
