| Purpose of the Group - Why start such a group? |
| Our time has been great on the Internet over the years. We have seen many things come and go. Business is said to be growing for the www today. Some figures say that 16.8 billion dollars will be spent online in 2003, which is up from 11.5 billion in 2002. Each year the figure seems to be growing. The need for have a group that looks at and helps be a watchdog to the Internet community is very important. The FCC is work to be a better servant to the public and laws about "Spam" and more are being worked. The efforts to bring about the new laws have taken 5 years to get to the floor. The territory is wide open. |

| The stated purpose is to help keep the Internet safe and sound and to help assure that the rights we all enjoy are held in great position and watched. The safety of everyone at times can be taken away by a few bad laws, apples, or even Internet citizens who abuse the situations to their liking. |
| The Yahoo group started because of a need and a good idea. That idea spawned into an organization and possibly a new .org in 2003. | to ask why? to ask what is the next step and where will we find ourselves with out a group looking at the issues of online life. The why is pretty simple too. In my own time of need I found nothing on the subject. There are a few agencies, groups and law enforcement teams who do care. We are excited to see good practices wherever we find them. |
