| The purpose of all Toastmasters clubs is to help improve its member�s speaking, listening and thinking abilities when addressing large or small groups. Toastmasters is a well-structured and supportive organization. Members frequently comment that they have formed long-term quality relationships with many of their fellow members. Since time is very important to all of us, our Club focuses on starting our weekly meetings on time. We adhere to a precise time schedule and organized agenda. Breakfast is selected from a menu. The prices range from $8.00 to $12.00, tip included. All new applications for membership are reviewed and voted in by the members. There is a clear path of advancement through manual speeches which are timed from 4�6 minutes in the beginning and increase in length to 19�20 minutes. You will be assigned a mentor to help with your advancement in the Toastmasters Program. It is recommended that you work closely with your mentor and ask as many questions as you desire. The V.P. of Education should be notified when you complete a manual speech assignment so it can be logged in the Club records. The beginning manual is called the �Communication and Leadership Program.� The first project in this manual is the Icebreaker Speech. It is 4�6 minutes in length and the objective is for the new member, you, to highlight who you are so that everyone will get a chance to know more about you. After you have completed 10 speaking assignments from this manual you will be awarded the Competent Toastmasters Certificate (CTM). In the next level you will be working on advanced manuals in order to achieve the following certifications: Advanced Toastmaster (ATM) Bronze, ATM-Silver, ATM-Gold and Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM).
