OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION


1. Objectives:

A. The LeySam Council

a.1 To unite all existing LeySam chapters under one umbrella in promoting peace, harmony and camaraderie.
a.2 To promote goodwill and closer cooperation among the various LeySam chapters.
a.3 To educate the various LeySam chapters on the duties and responsibilities of their chapters and individual members.
a.4 To defend and protect the rights of LeySam chapters and members.
a.5 To serve as an active forum for the articulation and ventilation of the ideals and sentiments of the various LeySam chapters and members.
a.6 To expose LeySam chapters and their members to an active observance of democratic principles, practices and processes.


B. The LeySam

b.1 To help in preparing LeySam members become productive members of the Eastern Visayas community and valuable citizens of the country.
b.2 To help promote nationalism and raise the political consciousness among the LeySam members.
b.3 To educate LeySam members on their duties and responsibilities.
b.4 To defend and protect the rights of LeySam members.
b.5 To serve as an active forum for the articulation and ventilation of the ideals ans sentiments of the members.


2. Pursuit of  excellence in education
           Having students as members, the LeySam Council shall help these members in the pursuit of excellence in their educational endeavors.


3. Access to education
            LeySam shall work towards making educayion accessible to everyone as a matter of right.





PRINCIPLES OF THE ORGANIZATION
1. TRADITIONS
     The organization believes in the importance of traditions such as respect of the resident members for the alumni/alumnae and of new members towards senior members. The LeySam Council and Chapter Officers shall endeavor to inculcate such principles of every member of the organization.


2. MARKETPLACE OF IDEAS

     In serving as a forum for the articulation and ventilation of ideas and sentiments, the organization upholds the right of every member to express his or her beliefs within the bounds of mutual respect for each other's dignity.
