Snowboarding In The Olympics

Snowboarding was first added to the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. The 1998 Winter Olympics held two specialities. The giant slalom, a downhill racing event, which involves snowboarding between gates. The half-pipe, which the competitors perfrom tricks while going from one side of a semi-circular ditch to the other.

Currently there are 11 events in snowboarding. Men's and women's halfpipe, men's and women's slopestyle, Men's and women's big air, men's and women's parallel giant slalom, men's and women's snowboard cross.
