BJ and I decided to practice some skateboarding moves. I'm attempting an X-grab for those of you who are skateboard literate.
OK so maybe I get a bit bored sitting in front of a microphone on stage. I have to jump around and be crazy sometime. It's definitely been an experience starting my own band. It hasn't been the easiest thing. In fact it's been quite time consuming and rather difficult, to say the least. I've learned a lot from my mistakes. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything though. It's been a heck of a lot of fun. It's sad that our days as a band are numbered. The break up of LEVI will commence upon my going off to college next school year in southern California. Glad that we were able to make a CD for y'all before it was over. Now there's something to remember it all by. Some of the things I'm involved with are soccer, DECA, NHS, Suburban Christian Church youth group, the HUB, track, bowling, full contact parcheesi, ODS, writing songs, and much more. If you have any questions for me or just want someone to talk to write me at: [email protected].
Here's a picture of me playing soccer this year in the state playoffs. (I'm #17 in the black uniform with bleached blond hair) * * **Meanings of Songs** The September Theory: This song is about remembering the good times. It's about being sad that the childhood years are just a memory now. It's about moving on in life and becoming something. I wrote the song because I felt that I needed to reassure myself that I would remember it all when I go away. A secondary name for this song is The Graduation Song. Road Trip Home: This song is a dedication to Aaron's cousin Ron. Ron died in a car accident back in January of this year (2000). He was 18. I tried to write the song as if it were Ron speaking to his family. In the song he is thanking them for loving and caring for him. Ron is getting his chance to say goodbye. "It's been real, and it's been fun. But now it's all said and done. So now I'll go and drive away. Hope to see you soon someday." I titled the song Road Trip home because the last time Aaron's dad saw his nephew, he was heading off in his truck on a road trip with his friends. This time, though, his road trip was off to a better place. Life's Little Disconcertings: This is personally my favorite song. It's basically all of my thoughts and ideas compiled into a song of symbolism and metaphors. Each verse carries 4 main ideas. The repeating chorus- "What do you say when I'm here? Where do you go when I'm near? Why's it always let it be? How come you deceived me?" ... is my cry out of me being tired of being left out and forgotten. My Everyday Dream: This song gives the impression of meeting just one person again. I like to think of it, rather, as being able to meet up again with all the people that I've lost touch with or haven't had the time to have a real conversation with. Candle: Two years ago when I was down in Medford playing with my friends band I was introduced to a poem by a 9 year old girl. The poem was about this girl's father who had passed on. She was writing about lighting a candle in his memory. I used her opening line, "Oh I will light a candle for you." for the basis of the song. I then went on to write the verses and tried to give the impression of a little girl missing her dad.
Anyone interested in getting ahold of our CD, but isn't exactly in the area can write to me at: Jeff Eberhardt 3003 Southwood Dr. Philomath, OR 97370 The CD costs $5, but I believe that shipping and handling is another $3.
