Assistant Professor, Health Careers Department
Psychiatric Technology Program - Second Semester

On-site clinical education. Includes scheduling, assigning, teaching, monitoring and supervising student activities at clinical sites, such as Porterville Developmental Center and various community organizations.


Introduction to Pharmacology
Psychiatric Technology Program - Second Semester

This course covers treatment of Developmentally Disabled and the Mentally Ill patient with physician ordered medications. Knowledge is gained in physiobiology, side effects, contraindications, and responsibilities of licensure.


Senior Psychiatric Technician - Porterville Developmental Center
Provided direct supervision to assigned residence during an eight hour shift. Reviews, tracks, schedules and monitors all activities, personnel and clients on a residence. Insured the rules, regulations and policies of the facility and program were followed. Encouraged and demonstrated spirit of cooperation and teamwork amongst employees. Monitored and ensured active treatment focus was implemented, thereby achieving client training toward the highest level of independence. Monitors and maintains training of staff. Performed Unit Supervisor duties when requested.


Correctional Counselor I - Corcoran State Prison
Prepare,review and update inmates Central File for purpose of Developmental Classification. To maintain, track and update assigned caseload in accordance with departmental policies and state laws. To assist inmates with institutional adjustments and parole preparation. Serve court documents as a Peace Officer representative to the state. Attended court as summoned. Perform liaison duties with other agencies and inmate families. Supervisory duties when required.


Correctional Officer - Corcoran State Prison and Salinas Valley State Prison
Provided safety and security through various duties either involving or not involving direct inmate contact.


Psychiatric Technician - Corcoran State Prison
Provided inmate crisis intervention, mental illness evaluations, program needs, counseling and report writing. Board of Prison Term Evaluations, giving recommendations for parole suitability and custody placement. Worked closely with Correctional Counselors, making recommendations for inmate transfers, both inside and outside CSP-Corcoran.


Fire Fighter: Paid Volunteer - Tulare County Station 19
Responded to all tactical operations, fires, medical aids, mutual aids as well as all station training.
