Chris' Homepage

Welcome to my homepage! As a web-page class assignment I would like to share some of my family and personal information with you. Please feel free to explore the "resume" and "links" pages as well. I hope you enjoy.

About Me and My Family

My wife, Paula, and I have one child. Daley is nine years old and is in the fourth grade at St. Anne's School. Daley is involved in tap, jazz, and ballet dance at Miss Lillian Goss dance school. Daley is also a new member of the Vandalia 4-H club.

Paula was born and raised in the Porterville and Springville areas. She attended Porterville High School. I was born in Lakewood, California and moved here my senior year of high school, in 1980. I also attended Porterville High School!

After graduating from Porterville High School, I went to Porterville College, where I received an A.A. degree in Fire Science and Psychiatric Technology. I worked at Porterville Developmental Center (formerly State Hospital) for about ten years, before transferring to Corcoran State Prison (to work, not reside). While working at C.S.P., I graduated from Fresno Pacific University with a B.A. degree. I later transferred to Salinas Valley State Prison in Monterey, California as a Correctional Officer. Three years later, I transferred back to C.S.P. and promoted to Correctional Counselor I. Today I teach at Porterville College in the Psychiatric Technology Program.

Hobbies

To me hobbies are activities that you consume your time with, but I enjoy many different types of activities away from work. Some of these include:

Fishing

Lake Success -My favorite and closest place to take my bass boat. If you have never experienced the "hit" of a bass biting your lure, then you don't know what your missing!

Lake Kaweah -Large and beautiful lake above Visalia with great fishing.

Softball

A great, slow and competitive activity fun for the whole family.

Computers

Almost obvious, isn't it?

Community

I am currently a member of Leadership Porterville, class of 2001. This is a project of the Porterville Chamber of Commerce and is designed to train and educate the class members about state and local government agencies. I graduate from this year long program in November 2001. My most recent Chamber of Commerce LARGE project was the 2001 Music Fest. There were five stages, each one booked with different music performers, such as rock n' roll, country western, jazz, Hispanic, and multicultural music. This was held on Main St., Porterville and included about fifty vendor booths from all over Calif. There was even a petting zoo, kids area and climbing wall.
