Bass Fishing
Pegging-Breaking off the tip of a wooden toothpick into the head of a bullet weight. This makes the sinker immobile when using a Texas rig.
Pitch-A gentle underhand or side-arm presentation involving a short cast to nearby shoreline targets.
Popper-A surface lure with a prominent cupped mouth to create a "popping" sound when retrieved.
Rippin'-Using short rythmic rod twitches to keep a floating-diving plastic or wood minnow under the surface.
Run'n gun-A rapid fire series of casts made quickly to cover expanses of shoreline.
Shakin'-Short repeated rod twitches that make the plastic worm "shake" as it is retrieved along the bottom.
Stick-ups-Decayed brush that is exposed somewhat out of water.
Stop'n Go-A specific retrieve where the angler intentionally stops, pausing to allow the lure to rest motionless.
Texas Rig-Most common way to use a plastic worm. Comprised of a bullet weight, worm hook, and a plastic worm. The hook is embedded into the worm to make the lure virtually weedless.
