Additional Comments: All info used. These are only relevant results available (courtesy of UK Athletics website) as at Sunday midnight. Extra info ( inc teams) courtesy of George Patterson. North East only had four runners in SM event and had a poor day overall. Weather seemed to be be rain threatened but dry. Course looked to be heavy underfoot, in parts. Race progress info courtesy of Sky Sports Xtra, but only results given were first six in each race. It seems in some races the quality of the Scottish/Irish challenge was under-estimated.

Additional Comments: These are only available results as at 26th Feb (6.00pm). Collected by me on day. Apologies if there are errors in fastest times. Overcast but remained dry. 32 finishers. North Eastern Counties Road Relay Championship.
Watergate Park, Lobley Hill, Gateshead.  Sat. 10th Feb.
Sunderland Harriers successfully defended their North Eastern Counties' A.A Road Relay title on Saturday, retaining the Royal Signals Trophy.
Athletes competed on a new off-road course at Watergate Park, but the persistent heavy rain, had made parts of the route, quite treacherous.
Gavin Massingham led for the Wearsiders on leg 1, holding off a late challenge from Tynedale's Andy Caine. Morpeth through Jon Taylor were lying third. Jack Martin took Sunderland into an unassailable lead of 53secs over North Shields Poly on leg 2, with Brian Rushworth, Tim Field, Patrick Martin and Tom Doughty extending the advantage to over 2mins at the finish line, over Morpeth. Ian Hudspith clocked the day's fastest time, moving Morpeth from 4th to 2nd on leg 4. New Marske, whose line-up included four U20 athletes, finished in an excellent third position. Gateshead took fourth place but lost any chance of medals, when fourth leg-runner Sean Hall missed the change over.
The presence of Rushworth, Field and Doughty in their Senior team, meant that Sunderland had to surrender the Veterans' title to Elswick. The Newcastle club, who included two M55 athletes, were second after the first two legs, and again after leg 4, but pulled away in the later stages. Sunderland took second, with Blaydon, for whom Phil Walker clocked the fastest time on leg 1, finishing 3rd.
Chester Le Street easily retained their Womens' title, winning by over 4mins. They were never headed after Tracy Laws' first leg, with Angela Hunter, Kathryn Waugh and Morag McDonnell extending the advantage. McDonnell's time was easily the fastest. Gina Rutherford of North Shields Poly overhauled Lauren Roche of Middlesbrough & Cleveland on the final leg, to decide the minor medals.

Additional Comments: Most of info used. Weather quite windy and wet most of time, though eased off for 30mins in early stages. Plenty of "pools" on course, which was really Multi Terrain. Chester Le Street B Women splits were: J Tinkler 14:11 (9), A Watson 12:45 (3). North Shields Poly running order was incorrect on results. Middlesbrough Mandale junior, Andrew Wiles was a comfortable winner of the Senior event, at yesterday's penultimate fixture of the Noth Yokshire and South Harier League, at Stockton. Wiles led all the way on the mud-covered  4 lap course, coming home with 15secs to spare over clubmate, Richard Morrell, with Richmond veteran Jon Orange, moving through to take third place. Race Walking International, Johanna Jackson was untroubled in winning the Womens' race from Middlesbrough and Cleveland clubmate, Carolyn Summersgill.

Inter County Schools Cross Country.
Temple Park, South Shields. Sat. 3rd Feb.
Northumberland won both Boys' and Girls' Overall trophies, retaining the latter, at Saturday's Inter Counties' Schools Cross Country match at Temple Park, South Shields.
On a spring-like day, 2006 English Schools silver medallist Ricky Stevenson, who also competed for Great Britain in the European Cross County Championship, dominated the Senior Boys' event coming home ahead of Cleveland team-mate Dominic Shaw. Mark Shaw (brother of Dominic), unbeaten in the Under 13 events in the UK Challenge Series, finished strongly to win the Junior Boys' race.
For Durham, Kate Avery, the 2006 English Schools' Junior champion, had to work hard for victory in the Intermediate event. Leading from the start, Avery lost a shoe, in the early stages and had to withhold the persistent challenge of Fell Running specialist Laura Park of Cumbria. North of England Indoor Under 15 800m champion, Sigourney Bell of Durham easily won the Junior Girls' race from Northumberland's Rachel Lundgren.
Lydia Patton of Northumberland won the Senior Girls' race, holding off the challenge of Cleveland's Kirsty Legg. Tom Farrell provided Cumbria's sole victory in the Intermediate Boys' event, winning in impressive style. In the non-scoring Minor events, Simon Robson and Hannah Jones, gained victories for Northumberland.

Additional Comments: Only results sent. Meeting longer than previous one (over by 9.20pm). Most notable results included here, but L Goldsmith won D U15 600m in 1:25.8. This was best supported age-group. Nicola P started probably too cautiously in her 600m. Tristan Peel pulled out through illness (also kept him out of Inter County schools XC).
