 Full name Foyez Ahmed Shaon, also known as Shawn Ahmed. Born in October 29th, 1976 in a city of Bangladesh named Sylhet(Chattak). Grew up in the Lower East Side of Manhattan also known as LES. As a young kid I was nothing but a pain in you know what (my mom claims so). Trouble never had to bother looking for me because I was always busy looking for trouble.
When I was 11 years old my parents decided to come to �The land of oppurtunity and hope�, unaware of the obstacles and the barriers that awaited us. After we arrived at the Big Apple, we slowly started realizing that life is not that easy even in the capital of the world. My father always told me �this is the city for the immigrants who are willing to struggle and work hard�. I was proud to see my dad take his very own advice. From dedication to sacrifice you name it, my he did it all. Coming from a tradition where the women don�t work, my father was the only source of income we had in our household. The money that my father was making was not enough, so he decided to work two jobs in order to pay off the bills
and to put food on the table. My father was a strong man physically and mentally. He hung in there and never gave up. After a couple of years of struggle, my father finally
got himself a desent well paid job.
As for myself, I also had to go through some changes and adjustments in order to be accepted in this society. Their were times when I hung out with the wrong crowd and ended up paying my dues. Anyway, I was able to learn from my mistakes. Right now I am a full time student in BMCC pursuing my associates in computer programing. May Allah make me successful in this land of hope.
