One of my favorite subjects is real beers and ales, I also enjoy good wines and single malt whiskey which may get a page of their own in time.
I am fortunate that where I live in the north of Sheffield there is no shortage of quality pubs selling a wide selection of beers from breweries the length and breadth of the UK and the continent.
Some of them are also brewing their own beers, ales and porters.

Hillsborough Hotel
The Hillsborough Hotel is an ETB 2 star hotel with its own micro brewery on site (Crown Brewery) which produces a range of high quality prize winning beers including: Loxley Gold, HPA and Stannington Stout other ales are produced from time to time.
The hotel bar is open to the public Thursday to Saturday  16:30 to 23:00 and Sunday 16:30 to 22:30.
The bar has a good selection of beers on draught from a wide range of breweries from all parts of the UK including their own tipples, continental bottled beers are also available.
Now under the ownership of the Edale Brewery Company.

Kelham Island Tavern
An excellent friendly local pub selling a large and varied range of hand pulled real ales and a traditional cider choice, a selection of Continental draught and bottled beers is always available.
A new extension has recently opened, it is a no smoking area and a welcome addition to an increasingly popular pub.
The decor is traditional inside and the beer garden is awash with colour and scent of the carefully tended flower beds indeed they are recent winners of the Lord Mayors Sheffield in Bloom award for best kept pub.
Don't be put off by its location in the red light district it is a real gem of a pub to visit and a warm welcome is always afforded by Trevor and Lewis.
Opening hours:- Sunday 12:00 to 15:00 and 19:00 to 22:30 Monday 15:00 to 23:00 Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 to 23:00.
