The Treaty of Commerce
Black Isle
The Treaty of Commerce has recently come into the ownership of the Batemans brewery who have given it a bit of a makeover but have kept the decor in keeping with the building.
Under new management, the regular beers are Batemans XB, XXXB and Dark Mild with either one or two changing guest beers at any time.
Food is served lunch times from an excellent and wide ranging menu freshly cooked on the premises which also caters well for vegetarians, a large proportion of the produce is sourced locally.
The atmosphere is that of a locals pub with a friendly welcome awaiting regulars and newcomers alike, well behaved dogs are welcome except when food is being served.
Located on the High Street by the railway crossing it is central and within easy walking distance of the railway and bus stations, well worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

Wicked-Hathern
Situated at Heeley in the south of Sheffield this veritable gem of a pub is a little too far from where I live for me to be able to visit as often as I would like.
A good selection of beers and ales with a number of ever changing guest beers from the length and breadth of the UK and beyond, a range of Continental bottled beers are always available as are hand pulled ciders.
You can always be sure of an impressive range of Whisky behind the bar but check the prices before ordering as some are quite rare and thus more pricey than you might expect.
The owner James Birkett is a well known character on the local real ale scene and the recipient of a number CAMRA awards.
