CARE PARTY PARK COMMISSIONERS WITH
BUD CORRY REFORM THE PARK DISTRICT

Les Golden was CARE president in 1991 when the CARE Party park board commissioners and their friend Bud Corry used their majority to ban pesticides from the Oak Park parks and recreation centers.

As candidate for State Representative, Les Golden proposed extending this ban to all the parks and recreation centers in Illinois.

With their majority, the CARE commissioners also delivered an election promise to reduce the park district budget by 5% with no reduction in programs or staff layoffs.

Les believes that such a philosophy should be applied to the next park board.
