After the fall of the West Roman Empire, the Roman Catholic Church became the focus of Western Eurpoe. The power of Popacy showed its strength and reigned via its religious network in Eurpoe. However, this era is also called the Dark Age, for superstitions took over people's mind and thus made ideas irrational. The prescutions of Jewish and the wars against the Islamic Empire, the Crusaders, came as the foci of this era. At the end of the era, Europeans started to sail away and "discover" the world.
