Frequently Asked Questions(Page 2)

If a student was a member of the National Junior Honor Society, is that person automatically eligible for the National Honor Society?
No. Members of the National Junior Honor Society must be selected for membership in the National Honor Society.

Do I need to commit myself to activities held by the Honor Society?
Honor Society members are expected to be committed to activities, and other service activities held by the organization. Membership should not be in name only, but through activities that demonstrate the code of the Honor Society. While a member does not need to attend all meetings, it is still his or her responsibility to be updated through the advisor or one of the officers.

How can a member be dismissed?
Members are liable for dismissal if they do not maintain the standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character that were used as the basis for member selection. Members are allowed limited warnings during their membership but that in the case of a flagrant violation of school rules or civil laws, warning is not necessarily required. A student who is dismissed or who resigns may never again become an Honor Society member.
