Initial Credits: Shows 'dominoes' with photos of the six main
characters on them, being played and you can only see the hands and the dominoes, credits,
ie. actors names appear next to their photos when they are placed next to the other
dominoes. To the music of "Matchmaker, matchmaker" (from
"Fiddler on the Roof").
OR
Shows pictures of Jeckyll and Hyde and the chemical formula of the potion that Schizo
("Sciency-bum") girl invented that turned her into a schizophrenic.
Also shows roses and pickled onions - the chemical triggers of the
potion.
Shows Schizo girl's lab notes about how to prepare the potion,
"Chemical Preparation/Organic Synthesis of Jeckyll and Hyde Trigger", etc.
THEN (OR)
"Perfect Match" theme song
and clips from "Perfect Match". Camera zooms out to reveal Schizo
girl/sciency/bum watching "Perfect Match" on the television, completely
engrossed(?) Shows lots of her notes about her chemical Jeckyll and Hyde potion, and other
sciency stuff all over her messy house. [Also shows photos of her sponsor-children around
her house.]
Main story:
The Rhubarb farm scene:
Music: "The Sweetest Thing" - U2, OR "
The Cool person and Paranoid guy & Gothic girl are working, pulling weeds
at a Rhubarb farm. Paranoid guy is wearing a big sombrero to keep off the sun, a
long-sleeved shirt, sun-screen, etc. Cool person is wearing trendy clothes, but he is not
overly vain.
Gothic girl is wearing black underneath an apron, with a sunhat.
Paranoid guy says (in a conversation) the thing he is always worried about
which will come true at the end (eg. "You know, "Cool guy", you're going to
end up in prison one day."/OR "Why don't you put on some sunscreen?" Cool
guy says "One day you're going to wish you had gotten a tan like me." OR
"Sometimes I think you're so paranoid you'd think the sky was gonna fall on your
head.")
Most of the girls who work at the farm (besides Gothic girl) show romantic-al interest in
Cool guy.
Lab scene:
[Music: "A Night On Bald Mountain" - Modest Mussorgsky
OR "Main Vein" - Jamiroquai
Schizo girl is doing lab stuff: some kind of 'mad scientist' discovery type thing]
Schizo girl is working on her latest research, the Jeckyll and Hyde trigger. Hai is
working with her and says "Why don't you get out of here? Find a boy!". (Hai is
the person to whom she explains what she is doing (sciency explanation).)
Schizo girl acts like a Sciency-bum when she is in the Lab. She says
how she wants her inventions to really help people out in the world, when another
colleague is careless with/of something (?!!!!!). Should there be photos of refugees on
the walls?
[Schizo girl should be nicer than this!!! and more happy]
Other stuff that should happen here should be lots of
"Chem-Supply"-type stuff, ie. meet her colleagues who will feature in later
scenes. Example: Her boss says weird things like twisted cliches, "We've wasted
enough time to sink a battleship!" [c/o Mother], but better (eg.
"He was sweating like a train." [c/o Julian]). And they play pool every
lunch on a crooked pool table :). ETC, ETC.
....And lead up to the function scene. The Chem-Supply characters
discuss how the last big invention that the science team worked on was Sciency-bum girl's
teleporter invention, which will be demonstrated at the function.
Rhubarb farm scene:
Music: "Day-O" - Harry Belafonte.???
(Musical number about hating ones' job?)
Cool guy & Paranoid guy are beginning to hate the back pain
(Paranoid guy says a comment about this) and want to quit their jobs. Gothic girl suggests
that they go for some jobs going at her other part-time workplace, the supermarket, where
she is a check-out operator.
Cool guy would rather stay at the rhubarb farm than dress up in the
geeky outfits they would have to don if they worked there.
But Paranoid guy is worried about his back and decides to go for the
job.
Paranoid guy talks about how he wants to 'save-the-world'-kind-of-thing, actually he wants
to find everyones' 'perfect match' for them. Cool guy suggests they get some info. out of
Sciency-bum girl about an invention she made in the past (that he read about in a
magazine) for finding what kind of person someone really likes....(this is the lead up to
'Perfect Match'). Cool guy wants to spread a little love in the world, considering the
number of girls he gets??? (Fonzie-type generosity).
[But they haven't settled on a plan of action (to "save-the-world")...wait for
Dropping Centre.]
[Lead up to the function in this scene......]
The boys want to go to a Science function where Schizo girl will be demonstrating her new
invention, the teleporter. Cool guy wants to go there to seduce Sciency-bum girl so she
will spill her secrets about the 'perfect match' invention she made previously. (So he can
use it for the greater good. :) (or for himself!!))
Lab/bus/car/street scene:
Music - "A Thousand miles" - Vanessa Carlton (most
relevant), and "Leave a light on for me" ??- Belinda Carlisle (I just like this
song)
As Schizo girl is leaving the lab, one of her female co-workers tells her to look her
best, put on make-up and perfume, etc, because the cream of the city will be at the
function that evening.
Schizo girl walks out of the lab, catches the bus (camera shows bus passengers, curious,
weird, bizarre, but lovable-ish creatures), walks through the city, stops in a chemist
& turns into "Vain" girl by smelling the scent of roses in a perfume that
she tries on at the chemist and buys the perfume, (catches a bus home(?)).
Transition to next scene: "Vain" girl (having styling hair and make-up) catches
a glimpse of herself in a mirror and looks down at her clothes with a horrified
expression. (Show shot of Vain girl in mirror in plain/daggy clothes --> Shot of Vain
girl in mirror of the teleporter (a telephone booth-looking machine comprised of mirrors
on the inside), now wearing formal clothes.
Function scene:
Music: Nat King Cole - "Stardust", Lot's of other
music, eg. Alan Silvestri" - Why Don't You Do Right" (for use later on in the
movie (about Cool guy?)), Glen Miller - "My Blue Heaven", Ella Fitzgerald -
"Someone To Watch Over Me", Frank Sinatra - "Be Careful It's My
Heart", "Blue Moon" - Mel Torme.
NEW MATERIAL:
*The function is held to demonstrate Sciency-bum girl's latest invention, the teleporter.
Her colleagues are all there in tuxedos and formal attire, as is everyone there.
The attendees are well-to-do/sciency people who want to witness the latest revolutionary
technology that came out of Schizo girl's lab.
The boys got invited because they were members of a club. They became members of this club
for some other benefit, like (?) free rocket fuel vouchers. (Mick Molloy correlation)
*Paranoid guy and Cool guy do some stuff here, ie. talk to Schizo girl's colleagues and to
other guests (?) Do crazy stuff (?))
[***{Should someone evil (THE VILLAIN??? Eccentric guy?????) steal
the teleporter or do something to the president?) (Hang on, Eccentric guy's not even there
yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
*Should Eccentric guy be friends with Cool guy and Paranoid guy from
the beginning????????, this is an important scene for him to be in....
*I know,... Gothic girl should invite him, since she works with him at the supermarket
(but isn't this an exclusive function???, oh well).....
*OR, he could show up as a date of one of the journalists covering the event.!!!!}
*OR, as a member of the Press himself!!! Then he gets to interview Sciency-bum girl right
at the start!! Yay, connection so early, with so little romantic connection needed!}***
Eccentric guy could be a baddie, ie. THE VILLAIN behind everyone's
backs (which we only find out at the end). He could steal the teleporter right at the
start (and that's the reason why he showed up at the
Function, but none of the main characters know how he got in, they just made friends with
him when they met him there, or when Gothic girl introduced him to them).
This could be a talking point (inspire crazy action) for the
Chem-Supply people who would have to do something about the lost teleporter in later
scenes at the Lab (OR ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!! - they might have to track the villain down).
If Eccentric guy stole the teleporter, what would he do with it?]
*One of Schizo's colleagues makes a speech about the teleporter and who invented it, who
made it, how it will be demonstrated tonight, etc.
During this (Music: "Moonlight Serenade" - Glenn
Miller)
We see Schizo girl is now "Vain" girl as Cool guy approaches her standing
amongst the crowd. He is really charming to her, but she ignores him/is horrible to him
because she is "Vain" girl.
Cool guy falls in love with "Vain" girl (?), but he can't get any information
out of her.
How should this "Cool guy falls in love with "Vain" girl.
Then when she eats a cracker with a pickled onion on it, she rubs her head and turns into
Sciency-bum girl and falls prey to Cool guy's charms. She spills her information
(immediately?) about her 'perfect match' invention, saying she thought it was too
dangerous to make public, because there were some irregularities in her results.
However, now that Schizo girl is now Sciency-bum girl, Cool guy no
longer finds her enticing and he tears up the phone number she gave to him (when she's
gone, of course)..........(to be continued)
*Following the speech given by Schizo girl's colleague. The demonstration begins.
(MEANWHILE a (cabaret) act begins:
Patrick Lim (preferred guest artist) singing "New York, New
York"
while dancing with many other (tap) dancers.)
Sung very 'Simpsons-like'.)
The demonstration consists of an important member of society (The Mayor?) going to New
York using the teleporter and the President of the United States (who was in New York)
coming back to the gathering. Satellite televisions show what is going on in New York (The
Statue of Liberty in the background.) The guests applaud. [Then the important people go
back and everyone applauds again] - and the song and act ends (simultaneously).
The function continues....
(continued from previously).........Then Schizo-"Sciency-bum" girl putzes
on some more of the new perfume she bought and turns back into "Vain" girl,
making Cool guy's hormones go crazy and his brain confused as to what is going on with
her. [music: "Uptown Girl" - Westlife]
On the street?:
Paranoid guy tells Cool guy that he got the supermarket job.
Cool guy is persuaded to get a job at the supermarket by Paranoid guy
[and because he is now in love with Vain girl. - No longer relevant plot, but we could use
it, he may be morose because a girl he really loved changed so suddenly, without any
warning, into a bum, who he thought was not charming (???). Maybe he wants to find another
girl like 'Vain' girl now?]
Other plot-defining stuff can happen here.--->
ADDITIONALLY
*What should happen here now, is that Cool guy [No! Paranoid guy] should start talking
about using the 'perfect match' potion/invention. He plans to make the "Perfect
Match" game show so that others can have happiness.
(Narrator (Nick Kojevnikoff): "Unfortunately, Cool guy is forgetting that
just finding true love does not mean finding happiness." Cough)
Supermarket scene: (Paranoid guy's ideas)
Need to move this scene around or change it.
After working at the supermarket, stocking shelves for a while,
Paranoid guy continues to realise that many people are unhappy and wants to help them. (wow, they really care about others in this movie) He asks Cool guy for inspiration (Gothic girl and Eccentric guy is also
there) and Cool guy suggests, among other things, a Drop-In Centre (like for youth).
*Lots of interaction between these four characters HERE.
This becomes Paranoid guys mission. When Paranoid guy gets this
idea he starts singing about it/or another song, "You
Got It" by Roy Orbison OR "Twist and Shout" by The Beatles (Brian
Poole)(?) OR "I'm So Excited" - The Pointer Sisters
(especially the end of this song)(but irrelevant lyrics), and
the other workers (uniforms) and customers (think thongs, shorts and fluffy
ugboots) in the supermarket join in and sing and dance.[?unsure how this act is going
to work]
Now I think the song should be, "I Feel Good (I Got
You)" - James Brown
Scene about Gothic Girl and Retro Girl.
In this scene Gothic girl explains in some form or another about how she has feelings
for Paranoid guy. Then Paranoid guy enters and the scene is developed further.
And we learn about Retro girl in this scene, that she likes Eccentric guy.
Back at the Lab/Warehouse:
*More "Chem-Supply"-stuff to happen here.
Schizo girl is back at work after the teleporter demonstration. Sciency-bum girl is now in
love with Cool guy and she is acting even more absent-minded than usual, and singing, not
working, etc. Her colleagues talk to her about the other night (of the function). Schizo
girl is questioned about the guy who spoke to her. She doesn't say much about him, so her
colleagues are hopeful that she has found a nice guy.
Song and dance scene (to "Top of the World")
as Sciency-bum girl walks from outside (in the sunlight) through the factory with a keg
(of a chemical) on a handtruck, chemical smoke is billowing around her, passing forklifts
going past, and colleages passing her - dancing and wearing gas masks and lab coats, she
gets some paperwork signed by someone for the keg and puts the keg and the handtruck away
and checks someone elses work, goes somewhere else and checks some equipment, climbs the
stairs - dancing - to her lab. (Floodlights as she climbs the stairs (in her eyes) (?),
rainbows, stars, love-hearts, flowers, etc.)
Supermarket scene: (Cool guy and "Sciency-bum"
girl meet again)
Whilst stocking shelves at the supermarket one day, Cool guy runs into
Schizo-"Sciency-bum" girl (who is obviously a bit keen on him and she thinks
that Cool guy likes her still). She is buying some pickled onions, batteries, milk, and
Glen 20. (that's an odd combination) (Eccentric guy
is the check-out operator.)
Cool guy and Schizo-Sciency-bum girl chat a bit about what Cool guy has
been doing since they met at the function (quit his job; started working at the
supermarket), and what Schizo girl has been doing (perfected a split-personality drug,
which is triggered by the scent of roses and reversed by eating pickled
onions (Cool guy "So are you Jeckyll or Hyde right
now?" "Sciency-bum" girl "Oh, Im my usual self,
Hyde
(?)."); built a pocket-sized teleporter.) Schizo girl mentions that the
teleporter that she invented that was demonstrated at the Function has been missing ever
since the Function. It's rather a dangerous piece of technology to be missing. [I think
Cool guy starts to think at this point about how Schizo girl's usual self is the
boring-clumsy one, and how the girl he is in love with was chemically induced. He probably
wants to make 'Vain' girl permanent... ha.] (Instead of revealing
everything about the Jeckyll and Hyde potion, Schizo girl should just talk about the
teleporter and the perfect match potion) (she should reveal
her Vain girl identity later in the movie, near the end)
Eccentric guy should start falling in love with Sciency-bum girl in
this scene, ie. looking more serious/lonely/intent rather than his usual happy/jovial
self. However, he might just be looking intently at her because she is mentioning his
crime that he is attempting to get away with. [Hey, the teleporter could be disguised as a
refrigerator in the refrigerated section of the supermarket.]
Dropping Centre scenes:
Paranoid guy wants to make a Shopping Centre Drop-in Centre (called "The Dropping
Centre") (Or maybe some youths just vandalize the
sign) (eg. Shop 23, Athelstone Shopping Centre) for
youth to hang out in.
Has a pool table and sells garments??
Features a Check-out operator, ie. Gothic girl (who only ever
recommends black clothing) and Retro girl, [my goodness, the combined fashion sense must
sound like it escaped from Elton John's frock designer] they work for Cool guy and
Paranoid guy.
Sales (sales? ha) of the clothing makes money.
Painting the Dropping Centre scene:
Music: "Best Friend" - Brandy.
Gothic girl and Retro girl are left with the task of decorating and painting the Dropping
Centre.
They discuss their love lives, ie, that Gothic girl loves Paranoid guy, and Retro girl
loves Eccentric guy. We discover these two have been friends since childhood.
What else can they talk about? They talk about it, I can't
believe it, what kind of a movie is this? Mr Ventura
Music: "Best Of My Love" - The Emotions, OR
"Boogie Wonderland" - Earth, Wind & Fire feat. The Emotions, OR
"Original Charleston" - Palast Orchester & Max Raabe
As the scene in the Dropping Centre becomes
[ie. we can shoot this scene only 'once' OR can we get organised and create fake
white walls and fake painted walls that we can move in and out to create the impression
that the scene is becoming more cluttered and beautiful] more colourful and exotic the
girls start singing as they work, finally giving in to the urge to dance as they decorate
the Centre. And finish by flinging jungle vines onto the roof beams and tents up (into
proper positions).
Interview scene:
Eccentric guy is also employed by Cool and Paranoid guys (he quit his other job at the
supermarket because he only ever got to be a check-out chick).
Eccentric guy, Paranoid guy, and Cool guy should do some funny and eccentric stuff in
Eccentric guy's job interview. (eg.
Cool guy asking "Name?" and Eccentric guy saying "You know my name!"/"Hugo Z. Hackenbush". Cool guy also elaborates on things that
Paranoid guy is paranoid of so that Eccentric guy has reasons to pay him out. Before the interview, Cool guy and Paranoid guy examine resums, one of
which is from Santa Claus. It was in a red envelope, which had an 'airmail' sticker and
the sender address is from the North Pole.
Cool guy and Paranoid guy just play pool, darts, golf, scrabble,
dominoes, cards, etc all day. Cool guy is better than Paranoid guy at most of these games.
Mostly because of Paranoid guy having to wear dart-proof clothing, etc
Eccentric guy could annoy Cool guy by beating him at one of the games.
Eccentric guy, Gothic girl, Retro girl and other Dropping Centre youths
think about starting a band (sort of like "Mystyk Spirals) in the evenings. (It would be really funny if there was a whole heap of people there at the
time who want to be in the band as well. Some play unusual instruments, eg. pretend
ukulele, triangle, Aboriginal sticks, digeridoo, kazoo etc [Refer
to "Air Instruments" on 'The Movie' webpage].)
Lab Scene with Schizo girl turning into Vain girl (without fellow Scientists
realizing the chemical reason):
Vain girl talks to Hai and a girl colleague.
Vain girl shows her disgust for Sciency-bum girl in this scene, when she sees what she is
expected to do for a living, ie. play with sick orange goop, and gluggy brown mud.
She comments on her sad taste in clothes and shows her putting on make-up and doing her
hair.
Features further amusing antics by the Chem-Supply gang. They are discussing the recent
loss of their latest invention, the teleporter from the Function. They have contacted the
police, but the only clues as to who could have stolen it seem to be indicating Cool guy
(but Cool guy was really after the Perfect Match invention).
"Perfect Match" idea scene:
Music: "What the world needs now is
love" Petula Clark
After hanging out in the Dropping Centre, playing games, etc, they branch out into having
a televised "Perfect Match" game show, because Paranoid guy is concerned about
lonely people and he wants to bring people together and Cool guy has noticed that there
are a lot of girls following him around, so he wants to help out the guys who aren't
getting the girls. So he decided to give them products for their acne problems /OR he
gives out pamphlets and combs. In the next scene, you see
David Dyer combing his wet hair with a comb. And Eccentric guy, putting too much gel in
his hair or maybe holding a hairdryer and doing something weird.
Eccentric guy and Gothic girl help Paranoid guy and Cool guy set up the
"Perfect Match" game show. Cool guy wants to use the 'perfect match' invention
to help contestants find their 'true' perfect match. [I think the invention should be like
a metal detector, or a needle on a scale that moves towards one of the three contestants
when the person on the other side of the Perfect Match screen is hooked up to it.]
Paranoid guy is paranoid about using it because it takes out the chance factor, Eccentric
guy wants to make it himself. Gothic girl thinks they'll never get it to work (with
Eccentric guy working on it).
Eccentric guy, Retro girl and Gothic girl's band do the theme music for
"Perfect Match" (kind of unsuitable music for a
television jingle, but suitable for youth culture(?)/maybe could be a bit soap opera-ish).OR "Dr Harry Cooper"
theme-song-ish, or maybe hard rock music because of her
gothicness?
Paranoid guy says something that he is a bit paranoid of: being followed around everywhere by Gothic girl.
Schizo girl at work:
Schizophrenic ("Sciency-bum") girl talks to Hai about going
on "Perfect Match". Hai encourages her to go on, because he thinks she could
never get a date considering how she hates going out clubbing, and how she dislikes
dressing up, etc.
Meanwhile Chem-Supply workers are talking about the teleporter, or about dangers of Schizo
girl's other invention, the 'Perfect Match invention.
Schizo girl on "Perfect Match" scene:
Schizo girls first date is a disaster. The
guy she chooses (who could this be?) brings roses which she sniffs and is she converted to
Jeckyll-"Vain" girl so she doesnt fall in love with her date when she
meets him.
She returns to "Perfect Match" in disguise (maybe a
rainbow-coloured afro wig, or a moustache and goatie even?) and under many different
names. [shown on the television in other scenes?]
She is recognised by fans of the show when she returns in disguise and gradually becomes
famous.
Schizo girl at the lab
Music: "Angeleyes" - ABBA OR "Since I Fell
For You" - Nina Simone OR "Moonlight Serenade" - Glenn Miller
Hai encourages her to go on Perfect Match, yet again, to find some guy
because he sees she is still sad and lonely. Then she realises that she really likes Cool
guy still. Schizo girl is sad because Cool guy has not rung her back and
she thinks that he doesn't like her anymore. She sings a sad sad
song. :( . Sciency-bum girl should do stuff in this scene that shows off funny
absent-minded/clumsy things she does, or something else (GOOD) about her character.
Meanwhile the other Chem-Supply workers are concerned about the loss of their latest
invention, the teleporter and wonder where it could be hidden and who stole it. They say
the police have so far come up with nothing.
Gothic Girl & Paranoid Guy scene:
& featuring Eccentric Guy & Cool Guy & Retro Girl.
I don't know what should happen here. Maybe they should talk about contracting Schizo
girl. And Paranoid Guy says he thinks she is really hot/cool. And he wishes he could see
more of her. Eccentric guy and Cool guy start getting jealous, because they also like
Sciency-bum girl and Vain girl, respectively.
Male fan scenes: [Locations????
Characters??? Action?? Ideas?]
Male fans want to go on the show to meet Schizo-Vain-girl, so that by
asking her questions they can figure out which of the three female contestants she is and
also find out more about her.
Male fans could bring lots of flowers to the set, one could bring a diamond ring, another could serenade her whilst playing a musical instrument, eg. guitar, or harp :), or xylophone/marimba (Andy Buchan. One could be Hal Bruce, in cowboy costume.
Because so many guys go on the show, heaps more females want to go
on too.
Because "Sciency-bum" girl is so intelligent, fans love
listening to the answers she gives. ?????? Or because she always stuffs up her words, ie.
things come out wrong and funny.
OR because she often turns into Vain girl when she gets there because of all the roses
that are often on set.
"Vain" girl doesn't go on the show, but she often ends up
being there, ie. the swish of the hair & takes off her glasses -> suddenly wearing
great make-up and smiling, etc.
Many of the disguises "Sciency-bum" girl wears incorporates "Vain"
girl's clothes which "Sciency-bum" girl discovers in her wardrobe.
This leads male fans who know "Vain" girl to try to get on the show, ie. because
they think the mystery girl is "Vain" girl, when really it is
"Sciency-bum" girl.
Cool guy with the contract for Schizo girl scene:
So Cool guy persuades Sciency-bum girl to sign a contract to keep going on "Perfect
Match" in disguise to keep up the ratings.
What do they say and does Sciency-bum girl think Cool guy is coming on to her? Are there
any Schizophrenic occurences?
Paranoid guy and Gothic girl scene + Cool guy: [Location???
Outside? Train station??? At Paranoid guy's or Gothic girl's house (or
Cool guy's house)]
Music: "Bailero" - Canteloube, ((("That's
The Way It Is" - Celine Dion OR "At Last" - Etta James))).
Gothic girl talks to Paranoid guy about becoming braver and trusting in God, etc.
Gothic girl encourages Paranoid guy to be brave and go out and get a date, sort of hinting
that she likes him and he should ask her out...unfortunately, he misunderstands her
hinting. Paranoid guy consequently decides to go on "Perfect Match".
Cool guy enters as he hears this and encourages him to become more like him to attract
girls, (he actually says it in a kind and natural way) but Paranoid guy is too geeky.
One or a couple of their parents should feature in this scene.
"Paranoid guy on "Perfect Match" scene:
Paranoid guy goes on "Perfect Match".
Paranoid guy didn't get chosen!! (he was one of three guys). His
answers are lame. (eg.????)
Later out the back in the Dropping Centre, Paranoid guy says, "I
knew we shouldn't have called this place the 'Dropping Centre'." :)
[Group and Band at
Church [Mr Ventura reckons this scene doesn't fit in
the movie. Alternatives?]
The Dropping Centre band are practising their music for the service at Kent Town Wesley
Uniting...so Gothic girl can play the organ. - extension of the Dropping Centre
kind-of-thing.
Schizo-Sciency girl is there, and is introduced to the gang by Eccentric guy who is nice
to her (remember he likes Sciency-bum girl). She is acting shy and clumsy (I reckon she
should stuff up her words more often.) Nobody except Cool guy knows she is the
"Perfect Match" regular thanks to those fantastic disguises! (attempt at
sarcasm). And I think Eccentric guy can tell who Sciency-bum girl is under the disguises.
[What exactly should happen HERE???
BLUES BROTHERS experience for Paranoid boy/or Cool guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Eccentric guy's
already a Christian.)
Hmmmmmmm, do we need a plot-adjustment? -YES!!!!!!
I reckon all 3 boys should already be Christian and Schizo-girl will
become one through the course of the movie.
And Gothic girl- (already Christian), but besides this, what should happen
between her and Paranoid guy in this scene. I think they should help each other do things
during the service, or after the service. Paranoid guy should be a bit 'Sam Woods'.
-I suggest Schizo-Sciency girl cries annd Cool guy comforts her. She cries because she now
knows that just trying to help people (with her inventions) was getting nowhere because
she was doing it in her own strength, and she needs to follow God. I suggest that the
reason why she came to church in the first place was because she feels like her life is
going nowhere (Perfect Match thing isn't working out) and she needs help (?). She thinks
it strange that Cool guy is being nice to her now, after he jilted her previously.]
Music: "O Holy Night" - Mariah Carey
"Show me Your glory"
"In The Light" - DC Torque
"Missing Love" - Pray for Rain (PFR)]
[Alternative Scene:
(Music: "Stardust" - Nat King Cole (reprise), OR
music from 'Group at Church scene' eg. "Missing Love" - PFR(?), OR
"Falling" - Jamiroquai, OR "Forever In Love" - Kenny G, OR "When
A Man Loves A Woman" - Percy Sledge.)
Cool guy feels sad about "Vain" girl not liking him.
(I remember those classic movies that show the vulnerable sides of cool characters,
and the advice of screen-writers to show the 'heart' of your characters.)
Cool guy could talk about his feelings to a fatherly figure at the Dropping Centre, or to
Eccentric guy (who has feelings for Schizo girl himself), or to Paranoid guy (same as for
Eccentric guy), or to a youngster at the Dropping Centre who is telling him about the
guy/girl that she/he likes.
By this time Cool guy has signed up Schizo girl for the "Perfect Match"
appearances.]
Eccentric guy on "Perfect Match" scene:
(Music: "White Christmas" - Bing Crosby, OR
"Swinging On A Star" - Bing Crosby, "I Love The Way You Love Me" -
Boyzone)
Eccentric guy goes on "Perfect
Match" to meet Schizo girl
(who is in disguise), because he likes "Sciency-bum girl". (This should include
a lot of interesting and funny script. Eccentric guy's questions should be a bit
extraordinary/peculiar but half reasonable, in a words-with-two-meanings kind of way.)
Eccentric guy chooses Schizo-Sciency-bum girl (she was one of three
girls).
This episode of "Perfect Match" could be a Christmas special, if we go with the
"White Christmas" music. Or St. Patrick's Day (Irish Music).
Retro girl and Cool guy interlude:
Music: "You're Lonely and I'm Lonely" - Frank Sinatra,
"The Nearness Of You" - Bob Manning
Location: Outside at night.
These guys like Eccentric guy and Vain girl respectively and
think they should get together themselves because they are lonely and because their love
interests are going on a date.
(<----Could have a scene-to-scene merging thing, eg. looking at
the moon from the first scene's location, to looking at it from the location of the next
scene.--->)
Eccentric guy's and Schizo girl's date:
Music: "The Nearness of You" - Bob Manning,
"When I Fall In Love" - Celine Dion & Clive Griffin, "Love is
Blue" - 101 Strings, "I Love the Way You Love Me" - Boyzone, "Mystical
Experience" - Boyzone, "Oh Carol" - Boyzone.
(Guess what my favourite band is :)
Location: Tea for two: dinner near a window looking out into the night, full of stars and
moonlight, soft lighting, yellow/orange lanterns, Venetian restaurant, terrace outside the
window, soft strings playing. :)
Schizo girl's second date that is shown is with Eccentric guy. First it
goes well and Schizo girl starts falling in love with Eccentric guy. I think the romantic
music should fit here (in this paragraph). What happens is some witty/flirty conversation
between the two ('bout what?). Something about "Perfect Match" and the odds for
the show to actually work. Something about her work on the 'Love Machine'. He suggests he
would make a better 'love machine' than that contraption(!). Eyebrows raised, etc.
THEN, she sniffs the rose that Eccentric guy brought her and Eccentric
guy thinks that she has suddenly changed her character and is now too conceited, so he
doesn't like her (However, she likes him when she is "Vain" girl because he
shows how he hates her when she is like this and therefore he becomes "hard to
get").
What now happens is "Vain" girl does something like insult Eccentric guy's
wallet, ie. its diminutive qualities. Eccentric guy looks a bit angry/"what's with
you" at this comment. BUT, in "Vain" girl's mind she imagines Eccentric guy
in a white suit (symbolic of knight in shining armour). She is disgusted at her
subconscious love for Eccentric guy and treats him even more scornfully, getting even more
sick with horror of her 'lovey-dovey' (technical term) feelings, as Eccentric guy takes
all her insults.
However, we must wind up the evening with a song, and what better way than with a dance?
How about, "Begin the Beguine" by Norman Luboff?
As she leaves (let's do the 'Cinderella' thing: and the spell wears off at midnight) she
eats a pickled onion and turns back into the sweet little Schizo, Sciency-bum girl.
Eccentric guy kisses her goodnight. Sciency kisses back. (but does she mean it?)
[I think Eccentric guy should copy "Sciency-bum"
girl by going on "Perfect Match" in disguise and under a different name, which
leads to him becoming famous also..., which later leads to his closer involvement with the
illegal affairs of the game show executives (Cool guy and also Paranoid guy although he
doesn't know it.)
(I reckon Eccentric guy should eventually find some suitable/eccentric
girl, but how?)
(Now I like Eccentric guy more than Cool guy, and I reckon
Eccentric guy should get Schizo-Sciency girl!!!!!!!!!)]
After they go out Eccentric guy should sing "I Can't
Help Myself" - Four Tops (Sugar pie, Honey bunch) [what a great song!] {to??? Sciency-bum girl}
in the moonlight? outside in a garden/balcony, with lots of extras + dancing!!! because he
can't help loving Schizo girl when she's Vain girl, but he can't really stand it how she
is so horrible. BUT Sciency-bum girl still likes Cool guy :(. This scene could have
Eccentric guy serenading Schizo girl with a guitar, and other people playing a harp,
violins, flutes, etc. At the end of this scene we should show Sciency-bum girl has been
watching Eccentric guy do his little song and dance the whole time.
So now the Eccentric guy & Schizo girl thing didn't work out. And Schizo girl has a contract to go on "Perfect Match" so...
Cool guy on "Perfect Match" scene:
Music: "Stand by Me" - Ben E. King (background music)
(Includes the lyrics, "If the sky that we look upon should tumble and fall"!!)
Cool guy goes on to his own game show, "Perfect Match" to
meet Schizo girl (who is in disguise), because he likes "Vain" girl ((?)and he
wants to ask her some questions of his own.
He rigs the contestant selection so he is the guy asking the questions
and Schizo girl is one of the three female contestants he has the chance to choose.(?))
Cool guy winds up with Schizo girl, even though she is Sciency-bum girl [we'd need some
extremely contrived script to get this one to work :).]
Retro girl and Gothic girl and Eccentric girl and Paranoid guy (Dropping
Centre) scene:
Music: "Love Is Blue" - 101 Strings,
"Falling" - Jamiroquai, ("Butterfly" - Jamiroquai,
"Cosmic Girl" - Jamiroquai).
Taxes are discussed, among other subjects, such as love, who's going out with
who, adding a "Wheel of Fortune" element to the gameshow, all whilst the gang
are enjoying an uphill battle with the pool table. Doubles: Gothic Girl and Paranoid Guy
vs Retro Girl and Eccentric Guy. When Retro girl and Eccentric guy win, she kisses him.
Eccentric guy starts liking Retro girl.
Who else could Dropp-in(g), but the rest of the Dropping Centre gang, one of whom is the
world's-worst-secret-keeper (listening in on the taxes thingy), plus Cool guy and Schizo
girl.
[What else should the Dropping Centre gang be doing, wind up doing?]
Cool guy and Schizo girl's date scene:
Music: "Who Put The Bop" - Me First And The
Gimmie Gimmies [we need a more relevant song/lyrics] ("Head
Over Heels" - ABBA)
{At a restaurant/beach/water-slide/cardgame/minigolf...?} Cool guy tries to woo
"Vain" girl but she keeps changing from "Vain" girl into
"Sciency-bum" girl (and vice-versa) all the time, because she has her perfume
on/or Cool guy brought her roses (for a change) and she keeps eating pickled onions.
Cool guy can't make head-or-tail out of her, because Schizo girl likes
him one minute and then is indifferent to him the next.
Cool guy is beginning to like "Sciency-bum" girl more than
"Vain" girl, because "Vain" girl is so horrible to him.
[I wonder if this should be more comedic than sad :).]
Police at Dropping Centre scene:
Music: "We Built This City (On Rock And Roll)" -
Jefferson Starship
The government becomes inquisitive about the peculiar doings of the
"Perfect Match" game show, ie. the 'perfect match' invention and contracting
Schizo girl to be on the show, and send inspectors (eg. actors Nick Hawkes, Mr Lynton
Nicholas, Nicholas Kojevnikov and Michael Hand [can you imagine these guys 'rocking out' to the music for this scene? 'air
guitar'. Actually, since Lynton and Nick K. can sing, I think a policeman song and
dance number is in order (original lyrics?).]) around to the
Dropping Centre.
Cool guy is confident he can deal with the situation if only Paranoid
guy would be silent.
Unfortunately Paranoid guy asks too many questions and gives out too
much information, which leads to the Inspectors working out that there are strange things
afoot at the gameshow.
Jail scene:
Music: "The House Of The Rising Sun" - The Animals
Cool guy, Paranoid guy, Gothic girl, Eccentric guy, Retro girl and Schizo Girl (Schizo
Girl is contracted to appear on the "Perfect Match" gameshow and so is
considered part of the criminal activity) are arrested and are locked up in the local
prison.
Paranoid guy is worried that hell never make an honest
living again now that he is a criminal.
"Vain"
girl? starts singing "Rescue Me" by Fontella Bass.
(singing it mostly to Eccentric guy)
Which leads to all six characters singing and dancing with the inmates and police wardens.
(Wally appears in this scene. He is one of the inmates and escapes through a hole in the
wall that he creates with his cane)
Cool guy plans a really elaborate, but stupid plan to get out of prison. Schizo girl
suggests they just use her teleporter invention, which they all agree to.
Lab Scene: Discovery of the triggers
Sciency-bum girl turns into Vain girl at the Lab for the second time when she smells a
rose. Her colleagues deduct that Schizo has been contaminated by her own potion. And they
work out that the triggers are roses and pickled onions.
End "Perfect Match" game:
Music: "That's The Way It Is" - Celine Dion
All three guys decide to go on "Perfect Match" together, ie. to rig
their game show, so that Schizo girl can choose between the three of them once and for
all.
I suggest that in this episode of "Perfect Match" it should be a Fancy
Dress Special and the three guys should come as: a pirate
(Eccentric guy), musketeer (Cool guy), and Luke Skywalker
(Paranoid guy) so they can do some swashbuckling sword-fighting!
Eccentric guy and Cool guy fight over Schizo girl. (with rubber swords and plastic light
sabres. They also talk like the characters they are dressed up as)
Paranoid guy worries about their safety [by this time in the movie Paranoid guy should
have gained a bit of courage and should try to break up the fighting between Eccentric guy
and Cool guy by himself.] (Eccentric guy at some point acts like he is injured when his
hook comes off which distresses Paranoid guy immensely. He tries to help him and Eccentric
guy gets him in a head lock with his hand which was up his sleeve.)
The other Male-fans-of-Schizo-girl should join in the fighting. Wally (feat. his cane)
fights in this scene.
Schizo-Sciency girl chooses Cool guy out of the three main character guys.
-Jeckyll and Hyde potion exposed:
Schizo girl decides to tell everyone she won't be coming back on "Perfect
Match" anymore. And she has to explain that she has been on before, many
times, in disguise, and everyone is shocked.
Then she says she made the Jeckyll and Hyde potion which she recently discovered is
triggered by roses and pickled onions, and so she explains that she
hasn't always been 'herself' in the past.
Cool guy and Schizo girl second date:
Music: "Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet" - Gonzales
[beginning]
Location: Some place these two can dance together.
Scene starts off with Cool guy and Sciency-bum girl (dressed in as fine clothes as she can
find in her and Vain girl's wardrobe) dancing together to the music named above.
These guys realise they really don't like each other, they think the
Jeckyll and Hyde potion must have been affecting their normal romantic attractions, and
now it's wearing off of Schizo girl.
How do these two come to this conclusion?:
They have a fun time together, but they aren't romantically connecting anymore (potion is
wearing off).
They listen to the talk of other people in the dancing-place saying things like, "
Imagination: Cool guy realises he likes Retro girl, and Schizo girl reckons she likes
Eccentric guy. [Ventura recommends these couples should switch. I don't know, I don't think it really matters who ends up with who, just
as long as they love each other :), but using this as a justification for my obstinate
choice of couplings is illogical! OK, how about if Pip and Renee switch
characters? Then I might be happy. No, I don't think so. I guess I'll just have to
let go of my stubborn selection. OK.]
Lab scene: Cool guy helps Schizo girl find an antidote to the Jeckyll and Hyde
potion so they can check their hypothesis about the potion also being a love potion. OK
then,
Sciency-bum girl sings a song about being lonely/in love with Cool
guy...(Something to blend in with the next song, "Bailero") eg. "The End Of The World" - Skeeter Davis.---It
really does blend in with the next song!!!
Ending.......... (Billy Madison-type ending)
Music: "Bailero" - Canteloube
[Soooooooo beautiful]
Paranoid guy and Gothic girl have to end up together (they should probably have
more of the plot together).
...Eccentric guy finds his perfect match, Retro girl, on
"Perfect Match" at the end. He gives her a bunch of roses and they hug, etc.
...The other band members and Dropping Centre pool-, etc-players couple up.
...The male fans of the Perfect Match 'mystery' girl find girlfriends among the female
Perfect Match contestants.
...Rhubarb farm and Supermarket employees get hitched up.
Cool guy and Schizo girl scene:
Schizo girl has to woo back Cool guy now, but he's easy to get, bonus!! OR,
what?
Cool guy sees that Retro Girl really loves Eccentric guy. And Schizo girl sees that
Eccentric guy's love was fickle, so...
[Do we need a song here?] "Butterfly"/"Falling"
- Jamiroquai
...Sciency-bum girl and Cool guy end up together.
...Gothic girl sings, "Best of My Love" by The
Emotions to Paranoid guy. (?) OR "I'll Never Not Need You" - Boyzone.
(End credits)
Subtitle: "1 Year Later"
We see everyone together, eg on a picnic. Paranoid guy and Gothic girl have a baby.
Then: The sky falls on everyones' heads, only Paranoid guy survives.
THE END
