PROJECT REPORT
26TH JANUARY TO 30TH JUNE

1) LEO MULTIPLE MEET

Few of our club members went to CHINSURAH (CALCUTTA) to attend the Leo multiple meet on 4th & 5th of JANUARY 2001.

2) BLOOD DONATION

Since 26th January to 30th of June total number of 61 units of blood was donated to needy people in different hospitals like SEVA- SADAN, RMCH, HILL-VIEW NURSING HOME.

3) DENTAL-CHECKUP CAMPS

At our adopted K.M.MULLICK School about 80 children were given free dental check up treatment & free medicines were also provided to them. This camp was held on 27th &28th of MARCH 2001 for two days. DR. D.K. BHAGAT (DENTAL SURGEON) has devoted his precious time.

4) BANNER PRESENTATION

We the members of Leo club of Ranchi east participated in the banner presentation ceremony during the35th Lions Dist.Conference at Ranchi Gymkhana club at Ranchi .It was held on 3rd &4th MARCH 2001. There we highlighted our two projects:
a) BLOOD DONATION
b) SPREAD PEACE AMONG THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

5) OUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT

During 35th lions Dist. Conference LEO DIST.322A was formed and we bagged four posts from our Leo club for the district:

"Kanwaria SSeva Camp -at Deoghar-provided-mineral water,lime juice,fruits,medicines.
Arranged : Accupresure Camps,First Aid Centre.

3.Festivals

All sorts of Lions International & Indian Festivals celebrated accordingly & National Festivals too.

4.Tree Plantation

10 Trees planted near Jharia Railway Station.

5.Release

Release of Programme book by Leo President Leo Ramavtar Modi -projects to be done in his tenureship.

6.Distribution of Blankets

150 Blankets distributed free to the needy poor people on 17th Dec.2000 near Dhanbad Railway Station.

7.Anti tobacco day

Interaction programme on Tobacco harms young generation & society- between our leos organised by Leo President.

8.Leo District 322A

Formation of Leo Dist.322A on 4th March 2001.

(a) Meeting Held

(b) Installation Ceremony

New team under dynamic leadership of Leo Dipak Kumar Agrawal was installed by Lion Dr. A.K. Srivastava on 27.08.2000. The ceremony was graced by Dr. I.K.Mishra as Guest of Honour .

7 New Leo added in the fold of Lionism in the month of September 2000.

COMPLETED ACTIVITIES

(i) Participated in installation ceremony of lions club of dumka(s.p.)
(ii) Independence day was observed on 15th of august 2000 at the residense of Leo Suresh Himatsingka, Bhagalpur road, Dumka.
(iii) Teachers day observed on 5th of septenber 2000

Honouring the dedicated teachers : Shri Hari Mohan Bhardwaj of St. Teresa High School, Dudhani and Shri Paras Nath upaday of National High School ,dudhani,dumka was honoured.

Debate competition :organized jointly with lions club of dumka on 5th septem ber 2000 in the premises of ram Krishna ashram high school ,dudhani ,dumka.

             Topics:

            (a) No. of participants -8
            4 speakers(2for n 2 against)rewarded.

           (b) No. of participants -10
           4 speakers(2 for n 2 against)rewarded

(iv) Flood Relief Works
Food alongwith old cloths distributed among flood victims of
umrabad about 15 k.m. away from dumka.

(v) Distribution of fruit packets
Gandhi Jayanti was observed on 2nd October 2000 by distributing
fruit packets among 42 indoor patients of Sadar Hospital, Dumka.

(vi) Fund raising
Club fund was raised by organizing "Fun fiesta enjoy
counter'during Durga Puja at Yagya Maidan, Dumka.

(vii) Children's day
Children's day was observed on 14th November 2000 by
distributing sweets, chocolates,biscuits etc. among children of
Sidhu Kanhu High School Dumka.

(viii) Get together
Celebrated the 31st December 2000 with leos enjoyed sports,lunch n
lucky draws.

Completed activities

(1) celebrate flag hosting:republic day was observed on 26th January 2001 at residence of leo Himatsingka ,bhagalpur road,dumka.
(2) Painting competition: a painting competition was organized in sidhu kanhu high school ,dumka on 13th February 2001
(3) Members dropped: six member dropped in the fold of lionism in the month of march 2001.
(4) Eye camp:
(a) Active participation in the eye camp organized by lions club of dumka.
(b) Free distributed 108 blankets amongst the person operated in the eye camp.
(5) Gujrat earth quake victims:contributed rs.11000.00 to prime minister relief fund.
(6) Drinking water stall: drinking water stall was organized during 3rd April to 5th may 2001 in the premises of dumka bus stand.
(7) Sports: organized a badminton tournament was held during 20th may to 23rd may 2001 in the premises of dumka indoor stadium.
(8) Election: election of office bearers for the next year was held on 24th of June.

Activities : Performed a Charity Show in Aid of adopted K. M. Mullick school in Aug.
                Welcome Speech & vote of Thanks contest in Sept.
                Organised Blood Grouping Camp in Oct..

Leo Club Of Dumka :

Total membership strength on 12th Aug.2001 = 30.Members on 12 th Nov 2001 = 30.Percentage of Attendance in regular & General Meetings = 60%.

Activities : Organised Mobile camp from Basukinath to Deoghar for Two Days.Facilities
provided : 1.First Aid. 2. Fruits Distribution 3. Lime Water 4. Lemon Tea in Aug.
Distribution of Fruit packets to 49 Patients of Sadar Hospital ,Dumka on 2nd Oct.

A fund Raising Project was Organised .& a drinking water Camp on the festive eve of

Durga Puja.

Activities : Mastermind - A Mock test for the BITians based on CAT, GRE, GMAT pattern to
                test analytical,verbal,reasoning skills consequtevely in both the months of Aug. &
                September.
                Celebrated & paid tributes to the father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi
                Jayanti on 2nd Oct.
                Childrens Day celebrated on14th Nov.Display Banners for the welcome of
                new coming technocrats & distributed Leo Club pamphlets.

Activities : 174 Tree Planted on 14 th Aug.2001.
                Celebrated 15th Aug.in Adopted School.
                Organised Drinking Water Camp & First Aid Camp in Durga Puja .
                With the help of State Bank of Garhwa 4 Big Wall Clock's were hanged 2 in City
                other 2 in Railway Station in the month of Oct.
                Free Mega Dental Check up Camp in Sept - 1000 Patients checked 272 had
                free operations.8 Doctors called from diffrent States.
                Participated with Parents Club in LCIF Week from 2nd to 8th Oct.
                Tree Plantation Awareness Board at Shanti Niwas Vidyalya on 18th Oct.
                Traffic Awareness Board in Main Road Garhwa on 19th Oct.
                Project underProgress: Members met The Chief Minister of Jarkhand for
                the Development of Garhwa They gave valuable suggestions for better Street light
                Lamps & School children Bus Stand Shade at diffrent corners of Garhwa.They
                also appealed for the formation of Womens College in Garhwa.
                In the occasion of Chath Leos provided free Rice Mixing to the people there.
                They also did a fund rasing project there by selling sweets at the spot & various
                Games.They also celebrated the First Anniversary of the formation of Jharkhand
                & Participated in various cultural activities.They also honoured the winners of the
                players of Dist.Carom Contest held at Garhwa

Leo Multiple Meet " UDAAN " 2001 at Kolkatta from 23rd to 25th dec.2001

12 Members from our Dist. visited the confrence.They got the best hospitality there by Kolkatta Leos. Fortunately we achieved 2 Awards - First prize in Photography Display ,2nd Prize in Banner Presentation - Leo Club Of Garhwa Vishal showed there ever best performances..
