We the members of Leo Club of CEG began
our leoistic year with all the enthusiasm and zeal adhering to the true spirit
of LEOISM, Leadership, Experience,
Our
year of plethora of projects unraveled with our maiden one at our adopted slum,
SURYA NAGAR near Kottur. We organized a day long project where the students of
SURYA NAGAR were taught the art and science of BOOK BINDING by Mr. GOVINDARAJULU, from
the Department of Printing Technology, College Of Engineering, Guindy, Anna
University Campus. The event held on 2nd July 2005 was a huge success enabling, around 120 students reap
benefits out of the project.

Regular Events
Our club’s Leos are involved in handling tuitions for
the students of Surya Nagar in the evenings for about an hour.
The Second year Leos are also conducting coaching
classes for the first year UG students on various subjects including

On September 1st 2005, our club
organized a BLOOD DONATION CAMP at Vivekananda Auditorium where we, in
collaboration with Lions Blood Bank Egmore collected 120 units of blood, a
record breaking achievement at
Our beloved Dean cum patron of our club Dr.R.RAMPRABHU inaugurated
the event. The other guests of the day, the President of our parent club Ln.GovindakrishnaDas, Secretary Ln.Narasimhan and Treasurer
Ln.GokulDas extended
their benevolent support both financially and morally and encouraged us in our
efforts.
Our Leo Advisor Ln.T.V.Moorthy supported us
like a pillar in our endeavor which otherwise would not have seen the daylight.
He not only made the vision a reality but also a massive success to be proudly
recorded and remembered in the pages of our club’s history. Another milestone

2005
The month of October saw the coming of another of our
projects…..
We distributed stationery kits comprising of pen, pencil,
eraser and ruler to the students of Surya Nagar on 5th October 2005. This was
done as a mark of encouragement to the students so that they perform well in
their academics and come out with flying colors

2005
In November, our club invited Prof.K.V.Natarajan, a well
known teacher cum author of Engineering Drawing to give a guest lecture to the
first year students and give them valuable tips for the exam. The students were
able to learn the tricks of the trade from the master himself which they could
implement in their future engineering paradigms.

UTSAV ‘06
Leo club of CEG celebrated cultural bonanza “LEO UTSAV ‘06” on 9th and 10th of
January 2006. This was a personality development
program conducted to improve the

Utsav was held as a two days program
in our college MBA auditorium. On Monday, 9th January Utsav started
at 2pm with General Quiz prelims. On the first day of Utsav, prelims of all the
events were held one by one. Except collage, all other events were held as team
events. Many teams participated in the prelims and in each event four or five
teams were selected for the finals.
On Tuesday 10th
January, the day started with Treasure hunt. Minimum 5 per team participated
.Then finals of all the events were held. First Two teams were selected. Price
distribution started at 5pm and the winners were given cash prices,
certificates and attractive gifts.
