GENERAL QUIZ

General Quiz prelims was held at 2pm, on 9^th January ’06. More than 15 teams participated (3 per team). It was held as a written event covering about 25 questions from politics, cinema, sports, business and current situations. Timing was from 2pm – 2.45pm.  Five teams were selected for the finals.

The final round was held at 3pm on 10^th January ’06. Questions from various fields were asked to the participants. It contained 3 rounds. First two teams were selected from them.

 

HARRY POTTER QUIZ

       Harry Potter Quiz, one of the interesting events of Utsav, was held at 3pm, on 9^th January’06. Timing was from 3pm – 3.45pm. About 15 teams participated (3 per team). This was also held as a written event covering about 30 questions from all the 6 parts of Harry potter.

                          Four teams were selected for the finals. The final was held at 3pm on the next day 10^th January’06. It contained two rounds. First two teams were selected from them and were given prize during our valedictory function.

TREASURE HUNT

                   Treasure hunt was held on 10^th January ’06. About 10 teams participated. It started at 10pm in the MBA auditorium. It contained 7 clues. The team which traced the all 7 clues and reached the final treasure was selected as the winning team. Treasure hunt came to an end 1pm, when the first team found the treasure.

 

DUMB C

                      Dumb C was one of the main events conducted as a part of Utsav. Prelims was conducted at 3.45pm on 9^th January’06. About 10 teams participated with 3 per each team. Five teams were selected for the final which was held at 4pm on 10^th January. There were five interesting round like guessing product names and their tag lines, Dumb C, Bermuda were also conducted. As a special feature we had Thirukural round in the finals. All the participants enjoyed it. That was a tribute to our mother tongue. First two teams were selected and were given prizes.

     LEO Utsav’06 was open to all our CEG students and we had an enthusiastic participation from students of all years on both days. LEO Utsav ’06 aimed at bringing out the hidden talents of students and  to encourage them. From the good response of the students, we Leos believe that our aim was fulfilled. As Organizers, we enjoyed the LEO Utsav preparing the questions, organizing the events, stage arrangement, designing the posters and certificates etc.

   We also conducted fun games on both the days which consisted of balloon blasting, Tug of war, Make up etc. Small gift items were given to the winners.

       Price distribution started at 5pm with a prayer song. Our Leo advisor Ln.T.V.Moorthy Sir gave a thoughtful speech to the participants and distributed the prizes. First prize was Rs 500/- and Second prize was Rs. 250/- for Dumb C, General quiz and Harry Potter Quiz. Also attractive gifts and certificates were given to the winners. For collage, the first prize was a calculator and second prize was a T-Shirt.

                     Winners of Treasure hunt received Rs 1000/-. The valedictory function of Utsav ended at 6.15 pm. It was a great success of our team work.

          At this moment we would like to thank our advisors Dr.RamPrabhu , Patron of our club, Dr.(Mrs.) P.Vanaja Ranjan Mam , Staff Secretary of the Club, Ln. Vipeneendran , Staff Treasurer of the club. We have planned to conduct this event every year with support from every one.
