Timesplitters Future Perfect or TSFP is the sequel to the wacky, frantic shooting game Timesplitters 2. It is made by Free Radical the creators of widely praised goldeneye on the N64.

Story mode:
As in TS2 you can do story in co-op or 1 player. It makes more sense and is bigger in 1 player but is fun in co-op. The story mode has been revamped after TS2 was criticized for not making sense as you kept changing characters each level. Thats why in TSFP you are Cortez in each level and there is also a plot - you must go back in time and destroy the time crystals so the war with timesplitters never happened. Cortez is also a believable person now as well. He has a catchphrase "time to split" and each time he says it everyone just stares at him. The enemy is now a human as well: a mad scientist who wants eternal life called crow. Story mode is now improved even though it's still quite short and not too difficult.

Multiplayer mode: The multiplayer in TS2 was probably the highlight of the game. There were loads of modes from monkey assistant to virus. In TSFP the multiplayer hasn't really been improved although there are now 150 characters (if you've completed everything). Still playing with others in TSFP is lots of fun. Especially if you have internet on your console as you can fight others online and download new levels.

Extras:
If you have finished story and you're wondering what's left to do don't worry, there's plenty more to unlock. Challenges mode sees you doing a variety of different things like shooting monkey zombies or throwing boxes through hoops. There is also arcade league where an arcade match has been setup like zones or team deathmatch and you have to win it. Depending on how well you do you will get bronze, silver, gold or even platinum and you can unlock new cheats and characters. Another great extra is mapmaker. It is difficult to figure out but when you do you can make a great multiplayer or story level. There are endless possiblities in mapmaker.

Timesplitters humour: This game has a good sense of humour which is what sets the game apart from others. It has some ridiculous characters like the carlon carcass - a zombie headless, armless cow that is about to be cooked for meat. The character profiles make for a laugh and there are some funny bits in story. Mostly they involve Cortez embarrasing himself.
Final Verdict:
+
~improved story mode.
~150+characters
~extra challenges and mapmaker
-

Score: 92/100
