Gran Turismo 4
Gran Turismo mode: The main 1 player part of the game named gran turismo mode is something that will keep you occupied for ages. Getting a licence (there are 5 to earn) will take you long enough. The first licence is national B, then national A, international B, international A and then special. This will really appeal to people who love cars and know a lot about them as they will enjoy choosing a car to buy from a large choice of real cars. However this doesn't mean people who don't know the difference between a Vauxhall and an Aston Martin will like it less. Just because you don't know every car in the game won't stop the enjoyment of buying a car and modding it up to make it the ultimate racing car. There are loads of tournaments and you need a big variety of car types to complete them all, as your car has to meet qualifications to enter a race. For example it may have to be a muscle car. There are a lot of cars and tracks to unlock by winning races. You earn money by winning races to buy a car with. You can keep many cars in your garage and sell them when you like.
A spec, B-Spec: A spec is what most people are used to in racing games. This is you driving a car against others trying to reach 1st place and thats what all racing games are. However there is now B-spec, this is you directing your car but with someone else driving. You say how fast they should go and whether or not they should pit in. This gives you the oppurtunity to relax and enjoy the detail of the cars from many angles. Of course you could just set the speed as maximum, go get some food and a drink, watch some tv and then come back to see how you've done(cheat).
2 player mode: In the old Gran turismo games the 1 player was good but the multiplayer was rubbish. This has changed. This time round you have a good choice of tracks and cars and there is much fun to be had trying to beat your friend to the finish line. Another great option in 2 player is that both of you can use a car from your 'GT mode' files and see which is best. You can also race online.
