| The Nintendo DS is one of the most original pieces of games hardware for a long time. With more sequels than ever now and complaints that games are repetetive and boring something needed to be done. Que the DS: a handheld console with a difference. Gradually the gameboys graphics have been improving with each new console but everything else stayed the same. This isn't called gameboy DS because Nintendo are taking a different path. There are now 2 screens which could cause much success and many problems for developers. The touch screen is probably the best point and is a totally new way of controlling games. Every DS comes with WIFI Picto chat where you can write or draw messages to friends without cables. The microphone adds more options for games with some games already using it to record sounds. The graphics are better than those on the N64. The graphics are not as good as the PSP and the DS does not play movies or music. The DS is still a lot cheaper than the PSP and the weight/look problems of the DS have recently been solved. If you were going to buy the DS you should do so now. The DS Lite has now been released; a lighter, brighter DS that looks more like an iPod than a Gameboy, It betters the DS but does not warrant a buy should you happen to have already purchased a DS.
