| Het Departement van Jusititie is belast met de handhaving van de openbare orde en de vervolging van strafbare feiten. Tevens is de Staatsraad van Justitie verantwoordelijk voor de publicatie van de wetten en de implementatie van bovenkantonaal recht in de Lenbergse rechtsorde. De immigratiedienst ressorteert eveneens onder het Departement van Justitie. Het gevangeniswezen is geen bevoegdheid van de Staatsraad van Justitie, maar valt direct onder de Gouverneur van de Vrijstaat, die voor de uitoefening van deze bevoegdheid instaat middels de Dienst voor de Justitievoltrekking. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The Department for Jusitice is responsible for maintaining public order and the legal pursuit of punishable acts. The State Councillor for Justice is also responsible for the publication of statutes and the implementation of supra-cantonal law into the Lentburian legal order. The immigration services ressort under the Department for Justce as well. The Prisonsystem is not a competence of the State Councillor for Justice but ressorts directly under the Governor of the Freestate, via the Dienst voor de Justitievoltrekking. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
