wolverine small

It all started out with spiderman and x-men. First the comics, then the cards... and then on to basketball cards.. my uncle used to take us to stores like dj's and lee's, and papa's comics before they folded. i remember it so clearly, the year chris webber was the number one draft pick... i used to collect x-men, marvel cards, xmen classics, classics (basketball), four sport, and a few others... one day i found a presigned mashburn card in the four sport pack that wasn't listed in beckett at that time. my uncle tried to buy it off me for $25, but in the end i traded it for an acetone set which is the stupidest thing i could have done... at the same convention, another man would have given me that and $100. i was only 12 at the time. i swear i was fighting back tears.. i had asked my older cousin advice but he was only 13... hehehe, kids... but it did break my habit of buying cards... also they started to get really pricey!

i guess this is every kids obsession, but i was one of those kids who carried this sweet tradition past childhood.. and the craving goes wild! although sometimes it does feel like i'll eat all kinds, i can get kinda picky... gummy thingies are one of my favorites as long as they's not the gumdrop kinds, you know like swedish fish that get stuck to your teeth... sour patch kids are the only exception b/c the taste kinda makes up for it. :) mmm, polar bears (white gummy bears covered in white chocolate mmmmm) or those round apple balls that have a red spot on the outside and jelly stuff inside... i remember eating nerds.. and once at tanforan mall with my Lolo, i discovered a spin off nerds that only lasted for a short time... Dorks! hehehe, i know! i love schweet sctuff, but i don't remember liking dates as a kid or marzipan?!!? hahaha, that's funny, i like fruits and vegetables too, but i didn't write anything about them!

so here it is! fruits. vegetables. ok, ok, um.... mangoes are good, oh sooooo good. potatoes can be real nice. asparagus with the right dip can be really good also... salad sometimes hits the spot... that chinese chicken salad stuff is usually good, but they put so much stuff in it, are you sure it's still healthy? cucumbers is really refreshing.. ummm, ok this is weird. ;)
ahhh, sports. i love it. it all started out (again) with my uncle. now that i think of it, he fostered some of my greatest loves. he introduced me to a lot of things.... basketball (where he'd dribble the thing between my legs!), football (drawing out plays on his shirt or hand... you go like this, then turn and cut in!), tennis?, and running.... i also took an interest in baseball and volleyball... actually, how i got started in competitive school sports was a pe teacher and cross country coach who saw me play crab soccer in jr high... hahha, he said i was getting all into it and that i should go for the team. what? what's that you say? run hella miles? sure, why not! hehehe, my mother was against it, but she's real old fashioned.. you know sports with women... yeah. so i ran long distance for track also... it was fun, but i wasn't so fast... it was like, i didn't know how to run.. then high school started to loom ahead of me... i decided, if iw as going to get rid of my extra toes to be normal, now's the time... the recovery was strange... one calf looked all emancipated and the other had MUSCLE. but i worked up from a lap a day to "miles to go before i sleep." frost i think it is, but i could be wrong... :) sports...ahhh schweeet sports! how i long for thee... :)
